Leather seats in our FX

so I'm almost approaching the 1 yr mark with my beloved fx. Love everything about it but it seems my leather seats are aging really poorly for a 1 yr old car. I have the mocha(brown?) interior no UV protection in the front cause its illegal:mad:. The two front seats are showing creases and little surface cracks and looks like its at least 2-3 yrs old. Granted I've never put any leather conditioning on the seats but I figure I don't need it as 1 yr is still pretty brand new for any leather, I baby and garage the fx all the time, that and all my previous cars were significantly cheaper than the FX all had leather seats that held up very well for 3-4 yrs.

So did infiniti cheap out on their leather material? Would leather conditioning rejuvenate the worn leather? Is the leather seats cover by warranty?

My parent had their e class mercedes for almost 8 yrs now and the leather other than a little crease is in perfect condition and they are very lazy on car detailing, actually they don't do anything to their merc other than wash it. Have to say I'm jealous, I know the merc is like 20g+ more than my fx but still I would expect better from a "luxury" brand. My old rav4 had better leather seats....

is the previous gen fx like that? anyluck getting it replace? I can forsee it ripping in the near future
 
My FX seats are delicate (2003 Charcoal). I have a couple of rips on the side of the driver seat. I hate it...
 
+1 - it's not real leather and yes it's terrible.

Had to have three panels on the driver's seat replaced (black interior) at 90K miles.
 
It's not even genuine leather. It's vinyl!!
Mine is all ripped so take good care.
maybe they solved that problem with the 2nd gen...
 
yeaa i got the same problem. ifiniti leather is shitty i think . but watever i try to maintain it the best i can n thats it . i use lexol cleaner n condition seems to help a lil

i have the 2nd gen and its not improving at all. i'm very dissapointed. on the other hand maybe when it rips in a few yr i will get custom REAL leather wrap around it
 
i clean and condition the leather once or twice a year and no cracks so far (even the driver seat) after six years.
 
my seat is all sorts of fail. but wat can i do now lol.. maybe put some racing seats.. JUST A MAYBE

i use klasse vlr (vinyl leather rubber) for my interior via microfiber applicator for my interior. its a cleaner/conditioner. low gloss and silicone free. in the past i used aerospace 303, a similar product you can get locally. i now use it for tires. i do have lexol leather cleaner in case i need it.
 
also if you're a big guy (like in my case) the seats crack a lot easier...I clean and condition mine atleast once a month
 
I've even tried leatherique with no luck....but then again, like you guys mentioned, its probably because our seats aren't real leather....my tan/beige seats are discoloring and it is UGLY!!
 
Yeah infiniti leather sucks. I had the drivers seat bottom replaced because the bolster cracked and it was slowly getting bigger. Good thing I still had warranty when I had them changed out
 
It's a vinyl with a supper fine layer of leather on top!!
I took it to a shop the guy said it was a vinyl so he could easily get it the same color!!
haven't got to it, but will post photos!!
