I finally got around to having the KYB shocks and struts installed today and also did an alignment at the same time. I recently had to replace both my front tires so this was the opportunity to get everything done at one shot. I will post a scan of my before and after alignment but my scanner is acting up on me so I will have that up at a later time.

Alignment:

Before / After:
Left Front
Camber (0.0 to -1.5) = -0.9 / -0.9
Caster (4.5 to 3.0) = 4.1 / 4.1
Toe (0.02 to 0.10) = -0.09 / 0.08

Right Front
Camber = -1.0 / -0.9
Caster = 4.2 / 4.2
Toe = -0.03 / 0.08

Front Total Toe (0.05 to 0.21) = -0.11 / 0.17
Steer Ahead (-0.05 to 0.05) = -0.03 / 0.00

Left Rear
Camber (-0.3 to -1.3) = -1.5 / -1.6
Toe (0.09 to 0.28) = 0.01 / 0.25

Right Rear
Camber = -1.8 / -1.9
Toe = 0.09 / 0.23

Rear Total Toe (0.19 to 0.55) = 0.10 / 0.48
Thrust Angle = -0.04 /0.01

I think I will invest in a rear camber kit to get it all in spec when I change out my 2 rear tires next summer.

Anyways, the feeling of the FX and ride quality much more solid and sturdy. That's the best description I can come up with but that's how I feel about the new install. Well worth the $217.88 I paid for this. Also, paid $180.00 locally for the installation and $70.00 for the alignment. Those figuers should give people a starting point as to the cost of this maintenance upgrade.

Hey guys! Me and my friend are working on installing my kyb struts and shocks. I'm trying to get to the bolts that hold the rear shocks in place but I don't know how to remove the cover over it.. Can you guys tell me how to remove it so I can get to the bolts ? Thanks..

Agree, the ride is much improved.. Love it.. But my 18"s look much smaller and tucked in... I guess I will have to work on that next..

Thank you all!

I have a question. when you change the rear shocks, did you remove the dust cover from the oem shock and place it back to the new kyb shock? and how to take off the dust cover?

Rear shock replace

Did this install about a month ago along with H&R springs, no problems, yes, took rear shock mounting off old and moved to new shocks. Top nut can be removed, a bit of a pain, the shaft has a center hex, using allen wrench you can hold shaft to remove nut. You may be able to put shock in vise and hold to remove nut.

My problem started about a week after install and 2200 mi trip, squeaks from rear shocks, maybe coming from bushings on shock mounting. Anyone encounter the problem, my FX35 has close to 100K.

Thanks for any suggestions.

No Will I did it locally here when I installed some new rear tires and I have to say it was about half the price that Steve quoted me and I also got an alignment. LMS does good work but I wanted to do everything in one place.
