Kinetix Racing V+ Intake Manifold Plenum

plenum spacers are the best bang for the buck mod for our cars.....

Yeah it def was better on the top end and it also made the intake side a bit louder. Mostly at higher rpm, not loud while cruising. I definately liked it. My wife even noticed the difference :)

i think one thread said 1/2 was better, but i really don't think 1/8 on an inch will matter much positively or negatively IMHO, but i have only tried the 5/8 blox

There are probably some evaluations here on the scene, but here's my personal experience -

I went up against another FX on the highway with the 1/2" spacer (I have the 5/16), but he also had a different intake and exhaust than me. I pulled ahead of him on the highway at WOT from 2nd through 4th gear. But once we got to 5th, he started catching me and pulling ahead. Deal is this - 5/16 is better for the mid range rpms and the 1/2 is better for high end rpms, which makes sense.

This was absolutely a great mod in terms of bang for the buck. But I agree it's not necessary to go with an expensive spacer when it really is just a thick freakin gasket. I think it really depends on your future mod plans. I would think going with a non-metal spacer might also give you a little thermal soak protection, sort of like the Motordyne iso-thermal version already out there.

Jumbo is correct.....the 5/16 helps out on the mid range, while the 1/2 helps up top end. Just depends on where you want the power range to be.

I have had the blox spacer and 2 Skunks, blox's material seems like a cheaper plastic and skunks is more of a composite. I only had the blox on for a couple months before putting my supercharger back on, but I didn't have any problems with it during the couple months.

Currently the Kinetix racing v+ plenum and Motordyne 5/16th iso thermal spacer are the same price. I dont know if they have always been, but they are both $260 now. Based on this what would people choose if they were in the market to increase air flow?

I have the V+ and i really like it! i was talking about it earlier today on another thread and what i said was that if you are in a situation like yours the V+ is the better choice but if you already have a spacer theres no significant reason to change. Kinteix V+ and the spacers will do the same for the most part but the V+ will allow heat to dissapate better because of its composite material(not plastic) which prevents heat soak aswell and lower running temps for the same price i'd deff get the Kinetix. Plus it actually looks good!!!

I'd choose the plenum over the spacer too, mainly because at least there I'd feel like I'm getting something more for the money, why a spacer should cost as much as a whole upper plenum is beyond me, I can't see why a spacer should even need to cost over $100 let alone $260 :err:

+1 on that. It's a thick gasket. For $260. Then again, that's what I installed - and I love it. Worth the money. Would the complete upper plenum be a better value? Probably. Does it perform better than a spacer? I would need to see dyno numbers but I'd bet the difference isn't that much.

I'm still stuck on that Altered Atmosphere angled spacer. Wish somebody on the scene had it!

Is that Kinetix an army green color? I'd paint it. Either black or maybe a metallic silver/grey?

thanks everyone, I agree I can't understand why a spacer would be just as expensive as a whole upper plenum. Would I have to worry about the running temps getting too low, isn't that why motordyne offers the iso thermal option, or is this not the case with the Kinetix?

Ill have to take a pic not many have it besides me/ they used to have problems with them a while back but they have all since been resolved in their latest model of the V+. Besides it comes with a lifetime warranty!!!

The Stillen cai is what makes it loudest but yes the larger volume plenum does make it a bit deep but not louder
