Kind of new guy from Pittsburgh PA

Hey everyone, I was on this forum when we first purchased our 07 FX35 about 5 years ago. Well it's time to sell it, we already bought a new car for the wife and the Infiniti is sitting in the driveway.

However I am bored with my last project and am thinking of selling my 2014 Ford that I've put a lot of time and money into and maybe keep the infiniti since it only has 75k miles.

"If" I do keep it, I have to modify it! It's an addiction as I'm sure a lot of you know. The vinyl is picked for the wrap, I'd be doing HnR springs, my car now is sponsored by a lighting company so I'm gonna have them do headlights, the one road block I am hitting is wheels!!

I know there are multiple threads on this, but honestly it's all over the place with offset and width, very confusing when you only have a short time to decide whether to keep the car. Don't kill me, but I'm gonna ask the same question you all have probably answered many times. I plan on doing just springs for now, but I change my mind a lot and want something that'll work with coilovers down the road, so I want a wheel that'll work for both setups?

Based off the countless hours I spent last night on here, I'm thinking a 20x9.5 et25?? and I'd like to stay square cause of the AWD and rotation, but I could be swayed on that if something is a better setup? Sorry for the long post and if I wasn't supposed to ask questions on my newbie thread, I can post it elsewhere.

Thanks for any help.

Gary

Welcome to :iS2: Gary.

20x9.5 ET25 will work with Coilvers or springs, but why 20 and not 22s? Factory is 20x8.5. Not much of a bang for the buck to me, unless you're trying not getting new tires. I think 22x10.5 ET25 or 22x10 ET25 with 285/35R22 tires at 4 corners will look way way better with Coilovers or springs, but you will need to roll the rear defenders.

Thank you for the replies. Mine has 18's factory, I am not against 22's though. I do not want to roll the fenders, my project car at the moment needed that for coilovers and I don't want to go that way again.

I am thinking about selling my baby (car) and keeping this FX, just not sure it's a smart move getting rid of a 2013 Ford with 10k miles for a 2007 Infiniti with 75k miles. So I am trying to see how much it would take to put the Infiniti on the same level as my Ford, so far I'm at about $8k and that doesn't include replacing normal wear items.

I have H&R Springs with 22" wheels and didn't have to roll my fenders, I also have 20" wheels that I use for the winter months. Both sets are aftermarket and both sets look good with no issues and no fender rolling done. Just my 2 cents.

Specs on your 22's? Seems I'm finding a lot of 22x10.5 but with a +30 or +40 for the wheels I'm looking at which are Niche.

22x9 +40 on my setup and my 20" wheels are the same as factory specs.

Okay. Yea I may go 20's just based off price difference and PA roads are awful! I don't know yet, I definitely like the look of 22's, but this will be my daily and I have a feeling this thing is gonna nickel and dime me, so I may want to save a buc where I can.
