Kick Zaino to the Curb?

Do not bother with the "color specific" waxes from Turtle Wax, they are garbage and do nothing but stain your driveway/garage floor.

On the complexity of Zaino, it used to be much more difficult to use but you can greatly simplify the process. Once a year you should clay regardless of what wax or sealant you use. Before applying any new wax or sealant, you should clean the paint with a chemical cleaner. Guess what, these are two steps already that should be done with any brand of paint care products.

Zaino is no longer a system of Z1, Z2, Z5, Z2, Z2, Z6, Z5, Z2, Z1, Z6, blah, blah, blah. Those steps were ridiculous and unnecessary and are the reason Zaino is viewed as being so difficult. Today, you can get away with Z-AIO and Z2Pro, nothing else is absolutely needed (besides the annual claying). The "system" is only as complicated as you make it out to be. If you want to remove scratches and/or swirls, you will need to throw an abrasive polish into the mix.

ZFX is only needed if you plan on doing multiple coats in a single day. Without ZFX, you need to wait 24 hours between coats. Realistically, more than two coats is a waste and one coat is certainly sufficient if you ensure even and complete coverage.

A wash, clay, chemical cleaning, and coat of Z2Pro should take 4 hours at most.

i know that some waxes will discolor plastic trim and rubber moldings, do i need to be worried about getting any of the Zaino products on my lower plastic trim and rubber window moldings?

Not really, cuz it rubbs out with a good plastic trim product. I vote FK1 products for that.

Sorry, it was in another thread.

"Back to Black sucks. Best stuff I've ever used is made by FK1, FK-108 ("Top Kote" RVL Poly Protectant - Anti-Static) http://www.fk1usa.com/products-consumer.htm Berto lost the last of my bottle at T4T, but he can back me up I think
But this stuff might be better if you're not so dirty. They have something more for restoration, FK-317 This company makes good stuff"

just pulled the trigger on my zaino kit today. this is what i've ordered.

Z-18 Clay Bar
Z-AIO All in one surface prep
Z-2 polish
Z-6 gloss enhancer
Z-7 car was
Z-16 tire shine
Z-14 plastic cleaner

CAN'T WAIT!

can i use the plastic trim stuff on my rubber gaskets around doors? when my passenger windows up i get this funny noise, as if the glass is forever rubbing against the rubber. I'm thinking if i condition the rubber somehow i can get rid of the noise.

Took the day of work today and went at it. started at about 10am and the day went like this:

Scrub with dawn
Clay Bar the entire car
detail engine bay
Wash with Zaino
Zaino All-in-one
Zaino Z-2
Zaino tire shine

also did all the glass and cleaned the interior before i ran out of gas. Tomorrow will be finishing up with the zaino plastic polish and some leather cleaner/conditioner i have

With that I'm also going to post my first EVER PICS! haha
