I purchased a replacement Intelligent Key from ebay and have a question. It is the oval version (I have a 2008) and the metal key (shank) was blank and uncut. I had the local Nissan dealer program the FOB and cut the shank to match. I was told by them that I was given the "wrong transponder for the shank provided".
The FOB was programmed correctly, and operates like the original except for when the metal shank when taken and inserted into the cylinder, the car will **NOT** START, but will continue to turn over. The metal shank will open the door.
Any ideas what could be wrong? Aside from not working in when in the ignition cylinder, everything works just fine.
