I know what the current market has to offer so please don't tell me to just get a Passport, Escort, or Valentine. I came across this model today browsing through the internet, and it seems to have some great features. It has all of the GPS features, and then it also has a nice feature! One feature I really like is that you can set a certain speed to where it won't go off if your going below that speed. Anyways i was just to get some thoughts and opinions on this unit. There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of reviews on it, but i know that K40 knows how to make a good radar! Thanks in advance guys!!!

Ive been able to find some for close to $300

Doesn't seem to have the fit and finish of the competitors. And from what that site says, you have to mark the GPS locations. Escort 9500ix marks them for you automatically, so you probably won't accidentally mark a real location. Plus, it goes by location and frequency.

K40 is a good company though. Although the only system of theirs I've ever seen in person was broken...

I would rather have a GPS that already has maps loaded and one I can upload new maps for free via USB cable/internet. Marking all the spots is not ideal for me. Do you want to mark speed traps and red light cameras every time you spot one?? What about new places you don't know where they are? Defeats the purpose if you ask me.

I've never been a fan of K40, I have a view of them using old hardware and marking prices up a lot more than others.

This is kind of interesting if you have an iPhone:

Not going to tell you to get another radar detector -- okay, maybe I will suggest it=) So many tried and trued ones out there. I personally wouldn't risk my $300+ bucks.

Sitting on the side of the road after being pulled over: "Guess I better mark that speed trap"

Forgot to mention, my 9500ix was $350 from Amazon. They usually have them lower than MSRP, and I used a coupon.

Yeah ill probs go with one of the industry leading models, I'm just trying to see if anyone else had an opinion, interest, or experience in this radar.

K40 will pay for any ticket in the first year of ownership (within reason of course I assume)
