Programming Homelink with a compatible garage closer device.
First, you need to clear the memory set on your Homelink universal transmitter from your vehicle. The past owner may already have some programmed settings. This step is important for a successful programming.
Programming your Homelink using a hand held garage door opener remote
1. From your car rear viewmirror control buttons, press and hold the 2 outer Homelink buttons (to clear the memory) until the indicator light blinks (after 20
seconds). Release the buttons.
2. Position the end of the hand-held transmitter 1-3 inches away from the Homelink surface
3. Using both hands, simultaneously press and hold down the Homelink button you want to program and the handheld transmitter button
DO NOT release the buttons until step 4 has been completed.
4. Hold down both buttons until the indicator light on the Homelink flashes changing from a slow bilnk to a rapid blink. The rapid blink indicates programming is
successful, thus you may release the button.
5. From your garage opener unit, push "learn" or "train" button.
6. Within 10-20 seconds from the time you press the garage unit train button; From the car, press the newly programmed Homelink button
7. Your garage door opener light will flash to indicate pairing is in progress
8. Release the Homelink button
9. Press the recently programmed button to test. If successful, the garage door should open.
