I was on my way back home yesterday on the 495 and I'm driving and all of a sudden I hear a beep noise the the DCA(Distance Control Assist) started to flash on the LCD screen in the cluster. It kept beeping and blinking on and off and beeping, then the IBA(Intelligent Brake assist) light started flashing too since DCA went off. I got worried so I turned those features off and started driving, then turned them back on later thinking everything was ok and then it started doing the same thing again.
I thought it was malfunctioning and I was about to shit myself lol. It turns out that DCA is sensitive to strong amounts of light. When I was driving back home the sun was setting very low in the sky and it was very very blinding. I noticed that it was only happening when the sensor unit on the front of the car was pointed towards the sunset. I looked this up in the instruction manual and it turns out it's normal and that it can sometimes be sensitive to extremely high amounts of light. When that happens, it temporarily disables itself to avoid false warnings.
So I was just giving a heads up to people that have this. If it happens it's normal. In most cases it will rarely happen to you. Ofcoarse the sun doesn't always effect it. It's just that the sun happened to be setting real low in the sky yesterday making it hard to drive on the highway.
