Jumbo's interior trim

Not sure about the vents, but that center pillar might be interesting.

i don't like them at the vents either, also at the clock it looks too much, and why haven't you upgraded to an 06 shifter plate?
at the door panel it looks good.

Please get rid of that steering wheel cover!

I also have a steering wheel cover in slightly dark gray to at least match my tan interior. keeps my hand from slipping since i only drive with one hand on the wheel all the time. I don't see anything wrong with his....
Hey Brad, props for trying man :congrats:, keep them coming and let's find out what's gonna rock

Under normal lighting conditions, does the color of the panels match your exterior color? In the pictures, I think it's the fact that they almost match that bugs me. They would blend in much better if they were the precisely the same shade of red. I don't think it looks bad though, and I definitely like the pieces on the doors. The pedal covers might be cool in red...?

I think I'm pretty much in agreement with the general opinions here. Thing is that I am ready for a change and since this is pretty much like a new shirt (I can take it off any time) I think I'm going to roll like this for a while. It makes me happy when I get in the car and that's about as much as I can ask for.

Tchuck - TOTALLY agree about the color matching. They don't quite match and yes it bothers me. Trying to make myself ok with it - at least for a while. At the same time, I like being different.

Anyway, in my head I am visualizing the center console and getting excited about my plan. Vinyl wrap might still be in the future - we'll see how playing with the console goes.

I was thinking it would make a lot of sense for TWO guys to each buy different kits, then mix and match the sets together. All the stuff I have can certainly still be used by somebody else, but needs a few of the pieces that I used. Any color paired with black or carbon fiber would give unique trim options that would look pretty stock.

Honestly if these kits were $50, I think everybody would get them. $350 is too pricey unless you are a lil drunk or stoned one night and are surfing right after getting paid.

Agreed, you would think volume sales at a better price point would be much more effective than selling the occasional customer. I had wanted to purchase just a few of the panels (but not everything) and could never pull the trigger to buy a lot of extra plastic I knew I would never use......second half of this comment is very funny.....

i have a dash kit on mine, but in gray wood trim. i did mine minimally too, including the center section minus the shifter round section. i think it will look better than just having the clock section in red. i did the rest to cover the black plastic sections on the doors but left the aluminum alone. also, extra patience if you do the big piece. i have to do a few place and pull again on that a few times.

Got my carbon fiber 3M wrap and did up the console, the tops of the steering wheel controls and the shift knob trim. Doing the console takes patience for sure. I'm glad the material was so forgiving - peeling and re-applying without creasing.

Gonna roll like this for a while, till the urge to tweak it hits me. I like the change - I just really wish it were red and not orange. I called customer service and they said that these kits are produced only after ordering, so there shouldn't be any age fading or color differences between kits.

Still want to cover the sides of the console with the CF wrap - where alum trim is still hanging out. Also might remove some of the new trim pieces (ashtray, vents) and replace them with the black CF. Just depends on how things settle out with me over the next few weeks.

If it was mine, I'd cover the ash tray in CF and have someone paint all the "red" pieces "Laser Red". I'd still say it's an improvement over stock in it's current state, but color matched it would be . It couldn't be that much $ to spray those little pieces. Bear in mind my knowledge of auto painting could fit into a thimble, but it seems like maybe you could even use touch up paint in an airbrush or something, IDK... It would make a cool write up if you could pull it off that way.

EDIT: I just noticed all the white text on the console panel. That complicates things...

I have definitely considered it - even thought about giving up on this kit and going to another color entirely. Another company makes similar kits and offers a "red CF" color - but it looks darker than the Laser red of the FX. Almost maroon. Can't justify just throwing away this kit and buying another one that also might not work.

Painting really doesn't seem to be an option with how flexible these parts are. It is almost as if the color and printed text is on the base of the kit (just over the adhesive) and then it is bonded to a clear flexible plastic - and pretty thick too. If it can be done it would be a major project - removing everything, painting, then re-applying. Might even have to replace some of the adhesive backing if I try removing them now. When I removed the brushed aluminum from the radio console, the adhesive stuck to the console and I had to take it all off by hand. Of course, it had been baking on there for the last 7 years in the Texas heat.

Like I said before, when I get in the car and the "new" interior hits me, it makes me happy. That's about as much as I could hope for.

Finished up the CF wrap this evening. Did the console side runners, took off the ash tray trim and replaced it with CF buttoned it all back up. I'm down witit.

The little plastic collar at the bottom of the shifter was wrapped, but with it's little contours it wasn't clean enough for me. I decided to paint it black instead. It's drying overnight before I put it back on.

Oh and in the spirit of trying to be optimistic, I realized all the trim pieces actually match the gauge needles perfectly. The amber backlight also goes with it pretty well too.
