Kzystylin, I am located in Florida. I had a local shop called Chromefish Customs do my Hydrodip process as well as the custom paint and tinting all my red brake lights black. The Hydrodip is under a layer of clear paint so it has not had any problems lasting even with numerous trips to automatic car washes. I do have a chip in the front grill from a rock but that would happen to regular paint as well. Originally I was going to have the Hydrodip applied over all my red lights and have the red lens show through the black carbon fiber pattern instead of tinting them. The shop was worried about damaging the resistors and circuitry in the lights from the process so I decided to go with the tint.
My original shop did not have a big enough tank to dip the rear diffuser in all at once so it actually has a small seam down the middle where the pattern meets. It is barely noticeable but I have since found a new place with a larger dip tank. I watched them dip another customers piece and it is a cool process. They take the pattern, which is on a thin film, and dip it in the water to release the pattern and float it on the surface of the water. Then they dunk the item under water and as they bring the part to the surface the pattern gets applied to the part. Then it is dried and clear coated.
The process is not as expensive as you would think. I would have to check but I maybe spent $600 to Hydrodip the front grill, side vents, chrome accents on my side aero pieces, rear spoiler and diffuser. This price included the removal and installation of all the parts. I would recommend it, just find a good shop to do it.
