The lip looks really nice on white and looks better with windshield tint ....the viper remote start is nice as well ...why didn't you just put it in yr ome key fob and get the smart start so you could start the car when out of the ome range...?
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G 2
The OEM remote literally won't even start it across the street it's so bad it's ridiculous and you wouldn't know for sure if you started it because there is no 2-way confirmation.
The smart start is another $100 add on. He told me $100 add on during install or even if I add it later, no price difference and even with it getting the service for free for the 1st year, I just didn't like it really. I love my iPhone, but the idea of pulling it out just to to start the car or lock it, etc is not something I want to get in the habit of doing. I played around with it a lot at the shop. I like the keyfob a lot and I think that sold me on it. It's slim, feels awesome in the hand, rubber in the back, bright colors, slim and small, cool sounds. Pull it out, click, and you know if it reached or not and does other functions. Did I lock my car? who cares just pull out my remote press one button, see the green and sound confirmation that the signal was reached and done. That simple. I don't want to overcomplicate a simple thing....at least that was my thought. I know wierd considering I'm totally into electronics.
The benefit of the smart start is that its limitless range, but I'm not going to start it from over a mile away or whatever it is. I also don't like the idea of having to pay viper later $20 or $30 or whatever it is a year. Even though that's minimal, just don't see the need of it for me.
Oh the other benefit of the smart start they said was that the iphone can push notify you if your car alarm went off or something. While most think that's awesome, hearing that was a turn off for me because what am I going to do, run out of my work meeting saying my car "might be" in the process of being stolen or was tapped by something or someone....I wasn't about to want to be that connected and if someone was going to steal my rims or my car or hit it, they would do it faster than I could get to the car anyway. The blue light blinking I do like though when it's locked up.
That was my reasoning. However I know this is personal preference. I know some people like the big LCD and the iPhone and stuff.
Like the iPhones...98% of people out there put their iphones in a case. I don't. My reasoning is that why buy a product that is slim and lightweight and then put a bulky case in it. I keep mine in my pocket and love the slimness of it and weight. If I wanted a bigger phone I'll go out and buy something else heavier. I just put invisible shields on the phone and it won't scratch and had no problems selling as mint 2 years later twice now. If I drop the phone and crack, then I replace the screen (which I've done once) through iFixit. So I tend to be the opposite of the norm I think.
