Very nice DIY. I'm interested in doing this. As far as wiring, what is the purpose of the relay? Couldn't you tap directly into the dome light wire?

you could tap a second wire to ACC PWR and add a manual two-way switch. One position would turn on the puddle lights no matter what the dome light is doing and the other position would tie it to dome light operation.

Gonna do it this way also, need some advice.

here is a diagram i found for motorcycle similar setup different sources of power

12v from battery= ACC PWR ,source of switched power = domes light
Is TERMINAL #1 = red wire for light?
any benefit having relay before or after the switch? If someone could show how to put a single relay instead of 2 seperate relays would be great.

do i need to a relay to the 12v ACC PWR also, or will i only get power when i turn the ignition to acc pwr?
the relay from the OP is running to the domes and white wire going to ?

I love that idea, would be kind of bad ass, but I think he would need to add 3 more LEDs, so there is one for each letter.

Gonna make make a switch, one for light on all the time , the other for it to turn on with the dome lights.
Im pretty sure i dont need a relay for the ACC PWR, which will turn the light on all the time. I notice OP didnt ground the relay for his setup, is that not necessary?

Can i pull off the areas beside and surrounding the fuse box under the parking brake?It would seem quite limited if i can only access through the fusebox panel cover. thanks

i made a diagram for anyone who wants to set up the wiring like the OP, with the puddle lights coming on and going off with the domes light.

* the blue wire going to the domes light should be going to the purple and white wire at fuse box, not blue wire. sorry
