Jbaker1121's FX50 updates and photo thread

I'm not really a fan of the paddles myself. Too much lagging when you upshift. I look at the paddles as more of something aesthetic than functional lol. Most of the time I drive in regular drive mode or shift manually using the shifter since it seems to respond better that way for some strange reason. I like DS mode mode but it's too jerky in DS mode in stop and go traffic. DS mode seems better suited for driving with constant inclines and declines and twisty roads. But DS mode does help with a lot of the throttle lag. Sometimes I really have to step on it to actually get the car to want to downshift when accelerating.

Exactly how I feel.....

I only use the paddles when I'm on the twisties, then I love them. A few of us go on cruises a few times a year and hit the twisting, hilly backroads and the paddles work beautifully there when you are boogieing down these fun roads

I wonder if some grounding cables would fix this issue like on the G37? Hmmm

^^^Good thought. That's possible, that is one area that they say makes a difference with the cables.

I can totally imagine that being an awesome time to use the paddles. :)

Grounding cable kit? What is that and what does it do?
There are several makers of ground cable kits or you can make them yourself.
Here are a couple links on this site which explain them:

^ Thanks Wayne.

JB, I assume your gonna do this on your 2009 FX50 since you did it on your earlier ride:

When you do it, can you post a step by step DIY for us?

Actually I wont do it, it did nothing for me besides cluttering up my engine bay!

I don't mind the $2k but how is ur tech package options workin with ur whole kit JB? I'm really interested in gettin them for my ride.

Apparently I don't have the actual tech kit, just the deluxe touring and premium.

But if you do have the tech, you can still install it but will just lose some features and probably have to disconnect them.

why just the front? because of cost?

most likely. I think mine was like $2300 for the whole kit
