ISNI571 installation

Press the “AM/FM” button and then the “SAT” button.

This works.

Immediately turn the TUNE KNOB to scroll through the available sources.

This doesn't exactly work, the IPOD is never displayed.

Once “IPOD” is displayed, press the “<<SEEK” button to select it.

No point in doing this step since I can't get it to IPOD.

I'm going to follow this thread, as I have still not figured out which ipod/aux connection method I want to go for.

This Isimple gateway, what are the features? does it replace the XM, or keep XM in line? (can you still use factory XM if ipod unplugged etc) Does it have BT or auxiliary input for non apple doc pieces?

Also now that the new apple devices are ditching the doc connector for lightning, I know theyre supposed to have adapters from doc to lightning, but who knows if there will be issues still.
Thanks

It does replace the factory XM unit, you can add an iSimple xm unit to it if you need to keep XM.
You can buy a BT input, it does come with a aux input so you can use any 3.5mm (headphone jack) connector.

I bought an adapter that plugs in to the iphone/ipod dock and gives a bluetooth connection.
This allows my wifes iphone, my android phone to stream music wirelessly.
Best ipod/phone hook up I have ever owned.

Wth... Just installed it again with the new firmware and I can't even get to the SAT option this time

Possibly. The guy told me to reset it manually, which is what I'll do after class

Although this didn't stay as a success lol
if anybody installs and wants to find a good way to route the cable w/o cutting..
I routed it from behind the clock bezel, out from the coin/change cup(?)
There's a little flap where the ipod 30-pin connector and the aux cable can fit.
No drilling, no cutting, just poking the cable under the flap:

How did you get this to work? On my 07,aux1 shows up. I followed the instructions in The booklet but it still doesn't work. I don't have the latest iPhone update. Oh btw, I'm using my iPhone 4 with the previous firmware.

If installed right, you have to turn on your car/radio. Plug in your ipod. Press the power knob, click radio until you see AUXILIARY 1 or XM? Then once you see that, press either the SEEK or NEXT button on the radio to scroll through the sources... "IPOD" "AUXILIARY 1" "AUXILIARY 2"

Are you able to change tracks with the steering controls?

Are you able to change tracks with the steering controls?

Unfortunately, I can't.
Only the volume... but I use Auxillary 1, since it's easier to navigate than iPod mode.

I only use iPod mode when I want to listen to my whole library on shuffle.

Where have you guys been doing with the AUX cable that plugs into the headphone jack on any phone/mp3? Do you just put the radio panel on over it and let it hang out?

Does anyone know if the ISimple ISN571 adapter works with the 2003 FX?

Does this adapter require the stereo to have a satellite radio input/capability?

I need IPOD integration - need to control the IPOD using the stereo head.
