Is your fx a weekend vehicle or for every day use!?

We have a new FX50S and I was told by my significant other to use it as a weekend vehicle ONLY. This way I'm not putting alot of miles on it. I have to travel 22 miles every day to work one way and most of the time I'm crawling at 20-40, stop and go kind of driving. Driving the FX just makes the trip fun now. How can I go back to driving my 10 yr old regular car again after driving the FX50S. Would any of you do the same? :confused.:
 
Yea, it does hurt I know. But I was most forced to due to a longer commute of 40 miles one way. The money I was spending on monthly gas for the FX I was making another car payment. So I decided to go green for my daily commuter and use the FX for the weekends. You get used to it like everything.
 
I have to commute 160 miles one way twice a week and even though i love driving my FX i hate watching the miles accumulate. But since i'm only 23 I don't have the funds to have a second vehicle.
 
Ever since 2 years ago, I let my FX sit in the garage for 7 months out of the year. I'd take it for a spin at least once a week to get my wife starbucks. I put on abount 2.5k miles this year. My wife is using it as a daily until January until we get one of our cars back from my in-laws. We let them borrow it annually when they come to the States to visit.
 
We use our other vehicle to do the running around town and for errands. We use the FX for trips, long distance drives and weekend cruises.

My wife drives about the same amount of mileage daily...so when I have the opportunity to drive it I try not to, b/c of the accumulation of the mileage...so mine is a weekday vehicle, and it gets parked on the weekends
 
I use the fx as my daily driver. When we go out as a family, we take the mini as much as we can since its a lot better on gas. If we need more room, then we'll take the fx.
 
You all are just as bad as he is. I really thought I was going to win this argument with him:wink: I just needed more ammunition so I posted:tongue (2):. Damm Damm I have to park the FX *sighs*.
 
For my daily commute I drive my old chevy truck with 300,000 miles on it when it is windy or nasty outside. I drive the fx when the sun is shining.
On weekends it depends on where I'm going. Snowboarding = FX - Lumberyard = Chevy P/U
Driving it is not as much a problem for me as parking it somewhere.

I DD mine. I used to fill up 3 times a week at 50 a pop commuting 100 miles or so a day 5 days a week. Now since I don't travel too far its more like once a week unless I go out on weekends then it is twice a week.

Houston is such a vast expanse of a place...
 
My wife use it for daily driving, pick up and drop off my gals classes and activities
I drive my murano everyday too drop off my gals and sometimes pick them up too.
But in the weekend of course I drive my FX unless I need to buy lots of groceries or
stuffs then I will take my MO. My gals love the Fx better because they can watch DVD
and make my life easier too, they always so quite when they are in FX but not in my MO.:tonguey:
 
As i just bought my first FX for now i use it for everything :) I have 200km on the tacho.. So it is a brand new car.. :) Will decide if it is going to be a weekend auto.. Another car that i have is BMW Hamann 5 series.. I love both of them..
 
I roll mine every day, for everything from going to dinner with my wife to taking the dogs to the vet to bringing power tools to the job site. Miles be damned, my daily enjoyment is worth far more to me than the resale value... If I ever sell it at all. So far there is nothing available I would even consider for a replacement.
 
I bought my 06FX35 13 months back, I put 19K miles on it already. I just cant drive anything else. I love my FX.

I drive my FX everyday unfortunately. I used to drive my girlfriend's VW on the weekend, but it just wasn't any fun, but I sure saved some miles. I try to keep the miles down and not drive it too much, but I just can't avoid it. The one thing though, it definitely makes the commute more fun and I don't mind traffic at all when I'm driving the FX.
 
fx is daily driven 7 days and put 400 miles on her each week.

wish i had a gas saver at times... heehoohee
 
Back when my wife had a toyota solara, switching cars with her was no fun, no fun at all. But now that she has the mini, its just as much fun as the fx, if not more.
 
I don't think I'll ever use my fx as a weekend car if I had the choice. Too many mods done and I don't to only be able to see them on the weekends only. I wish I could care for my fx as much as you guys. Maybe because mines older. I beat my fx:smile (2): Sometimes I get in my car and just drive for no purpose with the ipod mod.
 
I know how you feel man, it hurts!

I use my 09 FX35 only on the weekend driving and long trips. Actually I only drive it once a week on Sunday only. I never use it for weekday driving at all. I accumulated 29,300 miles so far lol, so I try to get less use out of it. It's really really gone kill me when it hits the 30K mark.

It's really hard to resist driving it, cause it's so damn fun:biggrin:
