I was wondering is the fuel filler lid door suppose to lock after you lock the doors and set the alarm? I noticed that my fuel filler lid is never locked. Meaning you could walk by and open it anytime whether the doors are locked or not.

Thanks for the help guys!

Well mine doesn't lock. It's actually been like that since I bought it. No matter how I set the alarm or lock the doors, the fuel lid stays unlocked.

When I lock my doors, the filler lid also locks.
I would get yours checked out for sure, it should lock.

'09 seems a bit new for a problem like this.
My '03 has a bad fuel door actuator and does not lock. When working correctly, the fuel door should lock and unlock with the rest of the doors and trunk. I plan on replacing the actuator sometime in the future.
I'm assuming that the 2nd gen works the same.

I just spoke to my friend with an EX35. He said his was doing the same. He took it to the dealer and they had to program something to get the fuel lid door to lock with the alarm. I guess mine came unprogrammed or something. Oh well it doesn't suprise me. My welcome lighting came unprogrammed and I had to activate it myself.

Have you tried it when you don't have your key in your pocket?

Yup, tried that too.

I've tried using the button on the door, the key fob, and even the valet key. Nothing works at all. I even looked in the manual.

I'm not going to bother with getting it programmed right now. I'll just have it done at the dealer during my 30K service in Janurary.

cool. i was wondering if that gas door locked. just ran down to my car to try and and it does indeed lock with the doors. learn something new everyday!

You guys are lucky. I think the dealer never bothered doing any programming with the lock system. When I got my car nothing was programmed. The mood lighting that stays on while driving wasn't even programmed either. I had to take it there to have them program the entire mood lighting inside.

what is mood lighting?

AKA ambiance lighting. It's probably some subtle lighting effects around the cabin, on the doors, dash, or most likely up top near the lights for the door/map reading area. In Infiniti's case its probably that led up top that casts a subtle light down into the cabin onto the shifter area at night. I noticed this when I had a G37 loaner vehicle.

Yup, the floor well lighting stays lit too with mood lighting. There is also mood lighting behind each interior door handle near the window switches and lock and near the moonroof switch.

So this was really starting to bother me, so I just took it to the dealer this morning. The fuel filler lid locks now with the doors/alarm. They said they had to do some kind of programming to activate the actuator to work with the locking system. Oh well everything is fine now =]

Thanks! I'm just glad it works now haha. These kind of things bother me if their not functioning.

I know how to set the welcome lighting from the manual, but never remember seeing anything about how to set mood lighting? How do you set that? I know the welcome lighting turns off automatically after 14 days or so.

Also, Aaron I'm surprised you haven't changed all the mood lightings to some blue to match the Infiniti cluster color...

The mood lighting you can't set yourself. The dealer has to use their consult III machine to turn it on. Atleast that's what I was told. The floor mood lighting I changed already. The reason why is cause when you change the regular floor dome lights that's also the mood lighting too. It stays on in a low lit form while driving all the time. But the mood light behind the interior door hanles I didn't do cause the mood lighting in the door handles are an amber colored LED that has it's own special type of socket. So it's kind of impossible to do.

I know you already changed the floor to LED white right? I was just saying if you changed them to a blue to match the cluster, I think it would look really slick.
