So my wife been driving FX for couple days and told me it makes some weird humming noise. I took it for a drive and indeed, it does make a weird noise, like hum-hum-hum; it goes faster when I speed up and almost goes away when I break. Also I told her to drive by while listening, and it squiled a little bit, but also sounded as if my wheel was rubbing on something. I am not lowered, so that is almost impossible. Brakes are new less than 6 months. I pulled the wheel off (its passenger rear) and hoped to see a leak maybe but everything is dry. So everything looks good except the runner piece is bricked (on the picture). So? Anybody got suggestions? I'll attach picture once I get to laptop, app doesn't want to let me do it

Is it OK to remove river piece as it broke off and doesn't serve any purpose?

Humming noise is probably the rear bearing going out. The rubber boot that is broken is there to protect the shaft from getting dirt inside the shock and on the shaft. You can remove it and have it replaced with a KYB strut boot or an OEM one. Replacement requires removal of the shock.

Open that checkbook a little wider and go coilovers. Wifey will understand. It is a safety necessary expense ;-)

sounds like the Rear Wheel bearing to me. I just changed my rear driver side in it was a pain to seperate the bearing from the hub. I would say take care of it as soon as possible or it will be definitely hard to remove it .

Sounds like noise may be wheel bearing.
But that shock looks like it's overdue for replacement as well, how many miles on shocks and struts?

Sounds like hub bearing to me too since you don't see any evident of rubbing on the tire/wheel.

Thanks guys, it was a bearing. Spent about 6 hours or so to change. Now its smooth and noise free.
Andy, I said it 100 times and will say it again, you the man. This DIY here is awesome: https://www.infinitiscene.com/search/1/?q=15192-DIY-How-to-Replace-Rear-Wheel-Bearing
