ipods through Media Center

So I haven't been able to find ways around this and am wondering if anyone here has:

1. My ipod supports Genius mixes, but through the Media Center, I can't find Genius Mixes. Is Genius' through Infiniti's media center just not available or blocked?

2. I have about 10,000 songs on my ipod. If I want to listen to an artist like Linkin Park, I have to hold down the steering wheel control in which then it goes down through each artist still and literally takes 5 minutes to get to just the "L". God forbid I play ZZ Top sitting there 15 minutes scrolling. You can touch "down" on the actual Media Center touchscreen, and then it seems to skip down screen at a time instead of artist at a time, but that still takes about 2-3 minutes just to not even get through half of my artists and then it's a lot more not feasible to do that while driving. Is there any way? The Media box allows search artist I think, so I would think something at least similar.

3. Is there any voice controls that you can utilize with an ipod like play artist blah or play song blah or play album blah or play playlist blah?

Also, just FYI, I found this article, but this was only iphone specific:

All the above are things that some domestics like Ford have had for years now, so I'm having a hard time believing there isn't a way around these really annoying ways of just playing music that you want through an ipod???

I'd like to tell you yes, but all of your question's answers are no.

Unfortunately the voice recognition interface on our ride's aren't that intuitive. You can tell it to play the iPod, but you can't say which artist or songs you want to listen to specifically.

With all of the top of the line tech our ride's have, the voice interface lacks features. Oh well I guess you can't have everything =P haha

I just create a playlist on itunes and add songs to it. It makes it alot easier to navigate though my songs. Also you can create playlist using genius and then just take the songs and put them into a playlist and add a new name.

Thanks guys....just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing a feature or in case someone thought of some other clever way. :)

Yep I definitely have a lot of playlists already.....pretty soon I'll have 50 playlists with some playlists just being some artists I like listening too! hehe

At least we have something to look forward to. :) Even if a nice car had the best nav/interface, I would still want my FX.... these cars are just special engineering....nobody understands unless they own one or get a feel for it if they drive in one. For the longest time I was eying the Audi Q7 sline, did a Audi test drive before picking this one and it was nothing compared to this. It's definitely one of the most underlooked vehicles because 6 months ago I wasn't even looking at Infinitis and have been eying/shopping cars for the past few years.

By any chance do you know how to update the maintenance reminder 1 to say something else like engine oil or something? We both have a 2009, but when I had my car in service, they gave a G37x 2010 without nav and I noticed under maintenance in the Media Center, reminder 1 spot it said "engine oil", 2 was "engine filter", 3 was "tire rotation", and 4 something else. That's a good idea to do, but not sure if the ability to update the text of the reminder was only available starting in 2010 since I haven't found a way to do it :confused.:? I remember seeing that thinking great idea I'll do it to my FX, but then couldn't find how to do it on mine and the service guy just reset the first Reminder 1 to 3750.
