IPOD/DVD video on OEM screen

Today, I was getting an oil change at the Infiniti dealer in Glendale and noticed a car stereo shop adjacent to the Nissan dealer (across the street from the Infiniti dealer. Btw, the Nissan dealer there weren't cool like West Covina Nissan:thumpdown:, and wouldn't give me the cheaper Nissan oil change.. made me go across the street to the Infiniti dealer....)

Anyways. So I went to the car stereo shop and I was looking around and after talking about possible ways of playing video in my car, the tech there offered me a way of hooking up an Ipod Touch to the factory in-dash screen along with a DVD player, and have it play on the OEM screen directly, making it look factory. I read around the FX forums, and I haven't heard of such a system yet.. and then I remembered this awesome forum :top: and figured someone on here might know something.. He said the entire setup, a "module" to hook up the Ipod to, and the DVD player, and labor and what not, would come out to a total of $900. The DVD player would be a separate player under the seat, but playable through the built in screen.

Does this sound like a worthy investment?

The module he is talking about is the nav-tv. All it is is an input output device. This will only work if you have the tech/navi package on your FX though. I have this in my FX along with a secondary alpine touchscreen. The video quality is ok but then again the oem color screen was not really meant to be a high resolution screen to play dvd's on. But this mod will work if you already have the oem color screen.

The nav-tv module is should be about $200-300. Does that price include the ipod touch? If not then it seems a bit high but not extraordinarily high.

Thanks!
Just the info I needed.
The price did not include the Ipod touch... so basically if the module is 300, then he's charging 600 for labor... and an additional 250 for the DVD player.... rip off >.<
