Can anyone with an iPhone 4S confirm if their Bluetooth equipped FX works correctly?

I can make calls with no problems using my stored phone book.

Receiving phone calls is another issue. While Im in the car & Bluetooth connection is active to my iPhone, when receiving a call, my phone will only vibrate and the car will never "ring" no matter which ring tone I choose in the car.

Also it takes 3-4 "rings" (or vibrate cycles on my phone which seems to go into vibrate mode when the FX Bluetooth is active) for the screen to say "PHONE"

I can answer the call no problem but most times its like 5-6 rings to the caller before I even realise there is an incoming call (unless I have the phone in my lap to feel it vibrate....no jokes please!)

I have tried deleting & repairing the phone numerous times with the same result....

Anyone else confirm??

I have a bluetooth equipped 2007 FX and the 4S and haven't had any issues.

Yes, my custom ringtone is played over the cabin speakers.
Geeze then what am I doing wrong? I wonder if its a setting in my phone?
Does it ring instantly or is there a few rings before the car rings itself?

PS----who is your cell carrier?

I am using Verizon

I'm on AT&T, and all I can tell you is that when I got my car, I went in and blew away all the previous phone settings, and added my iPhone as the only phone. In terms of delay, as far as I have noticed, it's never taken longer than one ring for it to play over the speakers and show phone on the radio panel. As for phone settings, I don't have anything special setup with it, my Bluetooth is always on an connects immediately ever time I start the car. Try blowing away all the previous phone settings in the car, and setup a new pairing. Good luck.

Thanks. I did the "clean" install a few times with no luck. I can pair, connect, make calls fine with no problems....just the incoming calls I am having issues with....once I realize I have a call I can pick it up & talk with no problems.

My phone is not jailbroken (can they even do that to the 4s yet)

Must be a verizon thing....

yes for any iOS device running ios5 and on but it tethered..... as far as i can tell i would say go to verizon and let them kno it could be an issue with the bluetooth in the phone

i was having the same issue when i got my Iphone 4s with verizon , what i did i just rebooted my iphone and i never had that problem again works flawlessly now.

Rebooted meaning simply turning it on & off or meaning doing a full restore through iTunes?

go to your iphone settings , then general , then scroll down all the way to the bottom says resest click that , then click erase all content and setting and just wait for it to reboot

1st, the 4S is not jailbreakable at this time, not even tethered.

2nd, "erase all content and settings" will restore your phone to factory so make the appropriate plans before doing so. It's a last resort but it may fix your problems. Try holding the power button until "slide to power off" appears and restarting first.

Another option is to go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset all settings. This will just erase your preferences for everything, not blowout the file system.

Out of curiosity, who with the 4S and a 1G FX can comment on call quality. Do your callers still complain about muffled or static quality over the FX's handsfree system? Rumor has it the 4S got a more current Bluetooth stack. Does your phone book sync?

Phone book doesnt sync with my 4S...call quality seems OK on both ends. No complaints.

Tried the normal power off restart....still the same. Havent tried the simple reset all settings thing yet. Before I do I will try my daughters 4s as well as my other daughters older slider phone to see if its my iPhone, iPhones in general, or just the bluetooth in the truck that is the problem...Ill report back later today.....

Ok...small update.

Tried out my younger daughters LG Cosmos Touch phone.....Bluetooth worked flawlessly! Truck bluetooth rang on the 2nd ring no problems!!

Tried out my older daughters iPhone 4s....same crap as my 4s. truck does not recognize incoming call (on dash display) till 3rd or 4th ring on callers end....truck doesnt "ring" either. Phone defaults to vib mode...

Obviously a compatibility issue between the 4s and MY truck since others have stated they have no issues whatsoever. I contacted Infiniti Customer care about this issue & they state that the 4s has not been "tested/approved" yet & to check back in a month or so for an update....

Oh well....

I am having the same trouble with my 08 FX35 and iPhone 4s. AT&T and not jail broken.

I have the same problem as described 6T9CHGR, but also, if I am already talking on the iphone before start the engine, it takes so loooong to pair after the engine starts that the people on the other side think the call failed and hang up.

Any solutions?? I have a 3GS with IOS5.x and a 2008 FX35 (no GPS).

Thanks

Did any of you guys ever found a solution for this, I started having this problem with my old 3GS iPhone and has been having the issue with iPhone 4s and now with my new iPhone 5. It used to work well with my older iphone 1st gen. and iPhone 3G.

I guess apple changed something in the bluetooth of the phones but what is very strange is that only fails with 2008 model year cars :bulgy-eyes:

Nope, still no solution at least for me

I know this is kind of an old post, but I was having this exact same problem in my 2008 FX35 Tech Package since I changed from the iPhone 3gs all the way through the iPhone 5, I did not have the problem with my older iPhone 1st gen or the iPhone 3g. Anyway I have finally figured out what was going out and have been able to fix it with a little tweak in the phone.

For this tweak to work the phone has to be jailbroken, I have installed a package through Cydia called "Bluetooth Service Manager", this will install an app in your phone called "BT Services" that will let you enable/disable bluetooth services such as A2DP, handsfree, remote, gaming... on your phone, I thought the problem was that the phone was trying to send its own ringtone through A2DP which the Bluetooth on our cars don't have active, in fact from time to time but only a very few times, the phone ringtone could be heard over the car speakers in a call. Anyway if you enter this app and deactivate the A2DP service, the default car ring will sound with ALL incoming calls, it will still take two or three rings to sound, you will hear it at the same time that the car screen shows PHONE, but as said you'll be able to hear the incoming calls.

Once you deactivate the A2DP service and hit the home button on your phone you will see that the Bluetooth disconnects, you'll have to go to Preferencies>Bluetooth and hit the Bluetooth Handsfree again to make the connection with the car again the first time. After that and if you don't reboot your phone it'll stay with the A2DP service disconnected, if the phone runs out of battery or if you reboot your phone you'll have to run this procedure again.
