Invidia exhaust question

Need help from someone who has one. When you turn of your car, do you hear a rattle come from the exhaust? It's pretty loud, can hear it from the car. Only issue is off and on when I can hear it, seems fine when driving

Also, I didn't hear it for the first 2 days. Just recently started. Looked underneath, everything looks fine. I was tapping on the muffler and could hear the rattle. Seems maybe normal?

might be tapping on something. Another good way to inspect is to get under the car and have a friend rev it up and see if you hear anything unusual
 
I was and everything was normal. We think it's just a rattle from the hanger. Everything is solid, I was tapping it an nothing out of the ordinary. Seems only to do it when I've been driving it for awhile.

Maybe metal is expanding when it gets hot. On my 1st gen, the rear section is really close to the suspension and we had to adjust the hangers for clearance or it would touch.
 
Maybe the sway bar is touching the pipes?

I know there was a big issue and still is a big issue with invidia. The hangers crack at the welds which cause a metal on metal noise. I am having that issue again. :at-wits-end:
 
It hasn't done it for about 2 days now, or at least I haven't heard it.

If it was making contact with anything, it would be a constant chatter, wouldn't it? It literally only seems to happen when shutting off the car. Doesn't do it when it's starting up anymore it seems.

It also doesn't always happen. Will try and get a sound recording

Wow, not again John. Mine is not bothering me again after that repair by the shop you recommended.

Maybe about time to contact Invidia?

wait..what? Invidia has crack problems around hangers? sighs...I was going to buy the gemini now I'm not sure I want this headache...They must be using welding wire that isn't expanding at the same rate as the actual metal..
 
I have the invidia Gemini on my first gen fx45...it's been rattle free this far. Happy owner here.

It's touching the charcoal canister shield or that piece right above it? I can't remember what it looks like back there..

It looks like its touching the shield. I assume I can just bend it up a little?

If its moving that much, i would check to see if any of the hangers or rubber muffler hangers are broken or worn out. Honestly I still have my stock exhaust and it won't move much, maybe an inch if I push hard.
 
I did. Everything is solid. It's just how it was installed, I don't think it's moving at all. When I drive it for extended periods of time, it happens. Probably because the metal expands slightly when it's hot causing more of an impact? It's not constant, and it doesn't happen on acceleration and no banging when I hit bumps.

I'm going to put it on a rack Friday with my buddy who's a tech and we will see what we can do

I wold bend that shield back a little. I highly doubt there any broken/loose hangers.
