Hi, my name is David Schickedanz, username dschicke.
I have a black '05 FX35.
Hope to use this site to find info common to FXs and answers to occasional problems with my FX.

Ist problem is with tires. Is there a commonly known issue on FXs where the inside tread "cups" or is "bumpy"? Had local Infiniti dealer do a 4-wheel alignment, and the toe-in was a little out. Has been over 5k miles since, but tires still show the same wear and "sing" like crazy.

Welcome to iS! Not sure exactly what you mean, but for me there is more bulge on the inside of the tire, opposed to the outside just because of the geometry of the suspension when it hits the ground.

Did you replace the tires after the toe in was corrected? Because toe in correction should have taken care of the problem. Are the rears cupped if not try rotating them to the front and see if problem persists.

once the tire is feather edged from excessive toe, even after the toe is corrected it will not automatically just even the tire out... at that point the tire(s) probably should just be replaced... & yeah, welcome to IS

agree- if the tires are cupped they're done. How are the rears? The alignment will fix the problem going forward with new tires.

My 07 has the GY RSA's and at 15k they're down to 6/32 but they are worn evenly, ride and track well. I'm hoping to get a little more use out of them but at 20k I'm sure I'll be replacing them.

Here's my opinion - take it for what it is worth.

Those RSAs are terrible. They are loud, they don't ride very well and they don't last very long. Even if they were wearing evenly, they would still sing (just maybe not quite so loud). I'd say if you have tread left and just got an alignment, just rotate the tires. If they are causing shaking or other problems you can't deal with, replace them. Otherwise, live with the noise till they are done and then go get yourself some yokohama parada spec x - cheaper than OEM, ride better and so much more quiet. I only suggest that tire because most dealerships offer it and I have actual experience. You could probably buy it cheaper somewhere other than the dealership, of course.
