Interior smell

My job requires me to be on the go..
So I end up buying lot of drive thru fast food.. And sometimes eat it in the fx -.-
I also smoke a few ciggs daily while driving..

Lately I've been noticing when I first enter the car it's starting to smell a little funky..
I always keep the car clean in and out.. So it's not like I'm storing leftover trash in the back seat.. Also when I first turn on the a/c it will smell "stale" for a few second and be normal again..

Anyway.. I was wondering if changing out the cabin air filter will help the car smell better/cleaner

Cabin Fiter change is good way to go. Get the carbon one . . & . . . uh . . stop farting in your car w/ the windows up :rofl:
 
Lil good one Dave... I was having the same problem.. Changed the incabin filter and I'm good to go.. Thinking about it.. It's about that time to change it again..
 
my dad transports a lot of stuff in his car so it develops some weird odors sometimes. What he does is leave a orange peel in the trunk and it helps a lot. Weird, but it is very popular among chinese people to do this.
 
Some weekly spray with febreeze does wonders. Not to mention your favorite squash scented air freshner. But yes changing the in-cabin air filter to the actived charcoal filter is a must!
 
charcoal cabin filter helped in my case. also, let the fan by itself few minutes before you stop and shutdown the car to prevent moisture from being trapped and causing the smell next time you turn it on (common thing not only on nissans). since you eat inside the car often, keep windows down whenever you can (i do this too when i have food to go).

for the smoke, try using vinegar in a wide container and circulate the air (or leave it overnight). or instead of a container, i use a sandwich sized ziplock with about 1/4 vinegar, fold part of the top section outward to open, and place it on the cupholder. ive done this with loaners with "smoke scents" and it always worked.

Thats interesting Mike - Im gonna try that Vinegar thing
 
The carbon filter didn't do much for that initial moldy smell.. not for me anyways. What worked was setting it to fresh instead of recycle before turning off the car.
