Intelligent Cruise Control...Brake Light?

Hello everyone,

A quick question...

on 2006 FX45...using the Intelligent Cruise Control, will the brake lights turn on when the car slows down by it self when it feels that it is getting closer to the car in front of it with the Intelligent C.C being on?

I just don't want to confuse the drivers behind me haha :shy:
 
if the computer just stops accelerating then no, but if the computer happens to apply the brakes, which it does pretty offen in varying traffic, then yes, it does... it's just like the computer is driving for you, but it drives like a moron many times with applying the brake, then the gas, then the brake... theres only so much logic there, but for the most part it's still pretty convienient at times to have her drive for you... yeah, people behind can start to get annoyed & then they'll want to pass you, thinking your the one driving like a moron :)

if you had it you'd know... when you engage cruise the display will show you the set mph & the distance selected... if you don't have the distance selector then you don't have it. also, I think it's only part of the tech package. if you have the ikey & don't have to use the key to start your car then you should have it, lastly, you can see the sensor in the lower bumper grille opening too, a square box looking thing...
 
Now does your intelligent cruise seem to shut down in heavy rain? Ours has done this 3 times now. I didn't know if the box was getting too much water on it, and was interfering with the sensor...

It is supposed to do it.
As soon as the wipers start to operated steadily it will shut down the cruise.
It is safety thing so you will not use cruise in a stady or heavy rain.
You can still use cruise if the wipers are only operating intermitently.
 
Yes, the water droplets on the sensor and the rain itself interfere with the lasers. If your ICC module is dirty it won't let you use it either.

And Gee is correct too, once the wipers are turned on (except for the mist setting) the ICC shuts down.
