intel. cruise problem??

just picked up my FX from the dealer after performing the 15000 mile maintaince checkup & the first time I truned on the cruise the it just started blinking when I tried to "set" the system. Kept doing this, then it started working for about a minute, then would kick off & blink. The round dot next to the distance bars would blink along with a horiz. line where the distance bars normally are. It worked fine for the last 20 miles home. Has anybody experianced this before? I'll be calling the dealer in the morning, but If it don't repeat for the tech adviser I'm sure they wont know what to check.
 
Only if you kept swithching between auto and manual. That's the only way the intel-cruise would not work to your doing... Also it could be because the sensor in the front is dirty. If neither... call dealer. :tears:
 
Intel cruise won't work if the sensor is dirty, blocked, when sunlight hits it directly and maybe one more thing im forgetting. I love that thing but its very high maintenance.
 
just an update, Manny, your right, I read the owners manual & seen where direct sunlight would cause what I was seeing. I haven't had any more problem with it since Thursday evening. It's just kinda odd that I've never had this issue till I took it in the shop.

It happened to me once in sunlight as well. And another time, a piece of paper blew up and covered the sensor. It's a finicky system.
 
Only time I really use it is on the way back home from work, and the way i take always has the sun setting the direction I take. It always turns off the cruise when the sun hits it.
