Intake for heater and a/c

Not sure if this should go here or not.

I have 04 Fx, under the battery cover, right behind it there is a big hole for the fresh air to come i for the heater/ac. Are all Fx's like this? should there be some sort of other ducting?

Reason i ask is, My air coming out of my vents is way hotter the outside and my temp is set to the lowest setting. When it rains my windows fog up like i have 10 people in my car and there all breathing heavy. Plus the air stinks like a hot engine.

The air intake at the bottom of the windshield is not plugged and is clean. My seals around the battery box are in good shape and its all sealed like it should be.

Anyone else have this issue? I hate having my fan on because it smells like a hot engine, is never as cold outside and if it rains i have to have the a/c on and i freeze.

mine is like that, but not the way you describe the interior conditions though.

have you replaced your in-cabin air filter?

Even on the Vent setting my air that comes in is Warmer. But it doesn not smell.
I've noticed even when the vent is off, I still get warm air coming in.

I'm afraid that how infiniti designed the vents. It really is a poor design as you can't use the air recirculate function without the a/c.

The AC needs to be on with recirc so the moisture from your body is removed from the air which will fog the windows. That's the same reason the AC comes on when you set the mode to defrost.
