I read someone swapped in an 05-08 model cargo cover in their 04. Does anyone know what side pieces need to be changed for this to work and associated part #s?

Thanks!

Turbocad did this swap in his and needed the two side panels in the cargo area. Not sure if the part numbers were ever posted. He did need to do some minor fabricating to get the clips aligned properly I think.

There is one for 03-04. It has a thin bar. It's just incredibly hard to find. That's why I swapped out my inner panels from an 06 and problem solved. :)

For 2005-2008 conversation you will need #6 Left/Right trims, and brackets/adapters

The '05+ just won't fit in the '03-'04 design panels. Black painted cardboard would be a better idea. (and black painted cardboard is a horrible idea but would work, horribly)
The '03-'04 is also a 2 piece item, where as the '05+ went to a 1 piece design. (+ brackets or hardware for each). Don't forget the hatch piece. It all comes complete when bought new.

If '04, check your panels and verify with pictures. The design might have changed mid year.

Here is where it attaches to, see a square cap below the window? That's where 2003-2004 cover bar would slide into.

GetLuckiFX - So you ordered the two trim panels/the large ones, the female brackets for each side and thats it?

I got an 05 1 piece cover w the metal bar super cheap so Im going to do the swap of the panels too

thanks,
Jim

The only reason I and I know a couple people on here swapped the panels was simply because #1. I like the newer cargo cover better with the thick bar, #2. I got a hell of a deal for both panels and cover from a wrecked FX from a junk yard for $70 each so all cost me nearly as much as a brand new one. But deals like those don't always come along and I'd pay for new panels to fit the cover in, not cost productive. I'd probably do what p&b suggests and sell it and get a 2094 one.
FYI found a link for it too for $215

Good luck!! Fortunately mine came in after 6 months of waiting! The boat was traveling extremely slow. Dealer gave me a discount ~$233 plus tax but no shipping charge, just a half yr wait. Nissaninfinitparts looks like they raised the price to $261.

Id definitely order your specific year, took 5 mins to assemble and install w the plugs etc.

Selling my 05 cargo cover now!
