Installed the Ebay intake today

$40 Shipped on ebay, so I figured I'd give it a shot. Sanded the tube with 700 grit and painted flat black, with a flat clear. I will be bending myself an aluminium heat shield to prevent sucking hot air from the engine, but I've yet to start designing it. I did leave parts of the stock airbox installed to hopefully move some cool air into the filter. The filter and tube were secured using a 6" piece of aluminium strap from one of the maf bolts to the body directly below.

It sounds really good actually....crazy how much more deep engine sound you get out of it.

Yes I did...I'm planning on switching to a K&N soon though.

looks good. you may want to consider the dry type filter.

Nice job. Be good if you could extend the forward pipe and push the filter into the duct OR down into the well so it is further from the manifold heat rise.

When I had the Fujita (same shape/kind) my milage actually went down. Probably from all the heat. When I switched it to the stillen with z-tube it actually improved a bit.
