INJEN intake works on VK45DE!

Good question...entry point for tube is same and keeps the same angle (s) so I would assume the cover will fit. My cover has been shelved for the last couple of years but if you can wait for two weeks I'll try to overlay it (my brackets have been removed) to see if it fits with the INJEN when I get my car back.

My M45 cover fits over my injen...with some slight trimming so it doesn't rub. Should work the same for the FX since it is the same engine and intake.

Here are some pics:

Might not look like it, but there is a few mm's of clearance (after trimming)

Sure whenever you get that moment to, that would great as reference for the thread.

Even though its the same engine and intake, the covers are different. If the M45 needed some trimming, then I definitely feel the FX will need it too. Here's the '06-'08 FX engine cover as a visual reference:

Thank you gents!

Pretty intake. To make it even better you can buy a k&n or s&b filter with a filter on the top for more air filter surface area.

Also, on the fx that lower area where the filter goes is not completely sealed off from the engine bay, you could possibly seal it off somehow... The M is sealed with a plastic panel:

Is there a flex coupler at the TB?

Sent from my DROID RAZR
Nope, just a straight 3" coupler.

Great job for document the installation, Andrew.

Really, they call them coupler "power band" ? Can't see how that has anything to do with "power".

One thing Ed pointed out for this CAI application which I think is worth noting - The filter being that low into the fender well might have an opportunity to suck water (which as well all know would be very bad) and suggested something using like this - http://www.injen.com/docs/products/listing.asp?pcc=rp I tossed my closed end INJEN filter and purchased a cone type open end AMSOIL filter but they make the hydrophobic sleeves to fit a variety of filter sizes.
