Infiniti today reported U.S. sales of 9,239 units for February, an increase of 1 percent versus 9,144 units a year earlier. Calendar year-to-date sales for Infiniti are 16,035, down 3.1 percent from 16,549 units in 2011.
Highlights of Infiniti’s sales performance for February include:
“In February, Infiniti’s corporate partnership of NCAA Men’s Basketball helped us get the word out about our full-line of luxury performance automobiles, helping us set records for the Infiniti G Line and Infiniti QX,” said Ben Poore, vice president, Infiniti Americas. “In March, the next expression of our Inspired Performance, the Infiniti JX 7-passenger luxury crossover, goes on sale nationwide at our retailers.”
- The Infiniti G Sedan had sales of 4,334, up 7.2 percent and the model’s second best February.
- The updated 2012 Infiniti FX had sales of 1,108, up 4 percent in February.
- The Infiniti QX full-size luxury SUV had its best February with sales of 1,162, up 28.8 percent over prior year.
The all-new Infiniti JX, the brand’s first crossover with three-row seating, offers the World’s First Blind Spot Intervention System, which detects obstacles when backing out of a parking space and automatically applies the brakes to help avoid a potential impact. In addition, the JX has an innovative middle seat that provides ample entry to the third row without removing a child safety seat that is secured in the second row, and is expected to have best-in-class fuel economy.
Also in March, at the Geneva Motor Show, Infiniti will debut the EMERG-E, a sports car concept featuring a range-extending, mid-ship hybrid powertrain that offers performance and zero emission capability.
