After 30 years driving E Class Mercedes I decided to try the very impressive looking Q70.
in many ways I am delighted with the car but for 2 issues.
The Seat heater only works off hot air from the engine - When do we need a seat heater ?
Second and more importantly : The so called Pedestrian Impact system has triggered twice ( bonnet activation )and the reset cost is almost £3000.
First occasion : No impact whilst driving at 20mph with bonnet release activated.
Second occasion ; Light Impact with a Pigeon.
On first occasion Infiniti ( Leeds ) reset after Legal action.
On second occasion Infiniti UK tell me the system operated correctly . With a Pigeon ?
No interest in the issue at local and national level and a refusal to put me in touch with Senior Execs.
Frankly , I now think the system is dangerous e.g could trigger at 70mph on a Motorway with glancing impact with a bird or piece of tyre.
The effect is for the bonnet to rise front to rear cutting out 30% visibility.
Pity that lack of interest / resolution from Infiniti leaves a bad taste.
Claiming on Insurance costs excess and no claims bonus for a problem which common sense says should not occur.
