Infiniti DROPS the 2018 QX70 from Lineup

Wow that is crazy, never thought they would do that

And to think that the FX did start this niche segment well before the Cayenne, X6, F-Pace...etc.
Lately with Infiniti's lack of commitment towards this model especially as they've been carrying the same current model from 2009 I was kind of expecting this

Even if they come back one day with a new one it will be based on the Murano/Pathfinder platforms to capture more market share while accommodating a larger "mainstream" audience.

Too bad I will hold on mine for as long as I can and dream onwards for the killer Macan S, sad news!!!

It's not really a surprise when they haven't done anything with this vehicle in years. Maybe if they stuck that new twin turbo engine into it, it could have worked. I rarely see any Infiniti SUVs, it's all Germans and Domestics

It was really getting ridiculous with their latest cosmetic updates (blacked out mags, clear lights...etc.) on the exact same body and same engine dating from 2009! Obviously they decided to pull the plug avoiding a heavy investment in a new platform and design.

Sad but expected. Why sell a performance oriented QX70 when the cushy drive of the QX60 sells 10X as many vehicles. Don't get me wrong, the JX (QX60) is very nice but it really doesn't inspire spirited driving. Even the QX50 has pushed sales beyond the old FX (QX70).

I don't know how true it is but when I was at the dealership getting an oil change the service guy was telling me that the qx70 was going to get redesigned. He told me that it was going to get redesigned to compete with the Porsche Cayenne. Don't know exactly what he was talking about.

An inside source on another forum says the new QX70 was almost ready for launch, but Infiniti has cancelled it and will focus its marketing dollars on the new front wheel drive based QX50.

Thaz still a great news. At least it's not completely axed. There is still hope to be brought back like G8 => SS, NSX etc.

Well they just killed SS too not really much hope that’s coming back anytime soon since the model replacing it is now a buick regal.

It's not coming back, at least not the way we know it. The Q70 was also canned, so the rear drive architecture it taking a back seat at Infiniti. Expect platform sharing with fwd Nissans, including the next QX70 which might re-emerge in 2020/2022 based on the next gen Murano.

If the QX30 loaner I had is any indication of the direction INFINITI is going, definitely NOT gonna be buying anything new from them... I've always LOVED the M56S and wouldn't mind grabbing one... I believe the Q version dropped the V8 completely?

Fix your FX/QX 70 the way you like it and drive the wheels off of it. My '03 is sitting in my next door neighbor's driveway for a third life with 240,000 miles, but going strong.

I'm so happy I just got a low mileage 2013, it should last the rest of my life, if I don't do something stupid.

Saying the QX50 is the replacement is like saying the FX was "just like," a Murano. Only clueless people believe that. Infiniti has some great stuff, but some knuckle head decision makers. But, when you look at the FX/QX70 sales figures vs their other models, it's easy to see why they are going in another direction.

Sigh....
