Increasing towing capacity

Has anyone ever beefed up their FX 45 to increase the towing capacity? I'm thinking about an additional oil cooler and trans cooler and what ever else might be needed. I'm wondering if it can be beefed up enough to tow a trailer with a car on it, something around 4000 lbs? I'm thinking the V8 has the power to do the job, but I don't want to risk doing damage to the FX.
I've got a big car show to do in Memphis, Tenn. in June and I'm worried about driving my Stealth all the way there (it's got over 200,000 miles on it) and was just considering this idea as an option.

1st problem may be getting a real good class 3 hitch... one big problem with a unibody design is no real frame rails, to have a hitch be strong enough to not flex it's mount's would require load distribution by adding reinforcement plates to the body... it's not that the fx can't tow it, just would take some custom work to acomidate it, will add some weight back there too. past that, yeah, tranny cooler & upgraded brakes at least...

Thanks! That's the info I was hoping for. I'll save the FX for solo trips, no tow duty.
