Assuming one could get one into the states, I wonder if this would work on our VK45DE's:

The EXTRA POWER KIT generates more power and produces unparalleled responsiveness. The device consists of IMPUL Hi Power Control Unit and big throttle valves. It provides the performance boost of IMPUL Hi Power Control Unit while allowing you to use regular gasoline. Needless to say, using premium gasoline for EXTRA POWER KIT can bring out more power. If a car has already been equipped with IMPUL Hi Power Control Unit, you can still boost the performance by adding the throttle valves.

That impul engine has been around for at least 5 years now in Japan, but the power throttle valve is something I have not seen before.
 
Interesting find. We don't need the IMPUL ECU based on the TS and UPREV options we have available, we would just want the throttle body right?
 
That bites! I wonder how much potential the 4.5L have if it had more support.
 
Don't think there should be a difference. Possibly Japan doesn't want to support USA transactions if issues come up but then why open a USA office? I am going to circle around on this again and see what else I can find out.

I wonder what the deal, as to your point, the USA office is to facilitate bringing items to the USA I would think.

Maybe we should have a group trip to Japan and buy a lot of parts and put them in our suitcases?
