so guys im buying a 2005 ivory pearl fx35 i want to smoke the tailights and the emblem all dyi and i dont know if i want to dyi the grill black even though i want a black grill and tint the fogs blue since they have like a yellow tint, but im open to other tint options for the fogs. also i want to get the car ready for a car show here in houston on august 2nd. but the car is stock right now so im not sure if i should even try. im doing this just for fun not a serious competitor.

but also i have heard a couple good things about the k40 radar detector/ laser jammer. but nobody seems to be doing it. i dont know how much it would cost. i do not have much money cause i will be attending college next year and have to buy a new laptop =(

pleaseeee help me!

you should search these things...

I have the k40 undetectable (radar/laser detector/jammer.....)
it's in one of my threads...
and if your going to college....and need a new laptop..i recommend buying that first, then modding your car.

also, you shouldn;t rush to do all of those things...they take time and patience. if you rush to use nightshade and shitty paint to do eveyrhting itll end up like crap.. so take your time, read through these forums...and enjoy!

welcome to infinitiscene :)

yeah, really... August 2nd is just around the corner, and you don't even have the FX yet... I say on August 2nd... fgetabout the show... go take a short road trip and enjoy it.

school first bro the rest can wait. all these mods take time and patience everybody has done there mods one a time or maybe two at a time. as for your fogs go with a h.i.d. kit

cool thanks guys ya i wasnt planning on having it all done before the show ill attend the show as a spectator to check out the rides i can smoke the tail lights myself with some tint the fogs ill look up the hid kit. i thought it was weird that the top are hid and the bottom arent and just wanna enjoy my car =) thanks guys

ps. im getting my car tuesday or wednesday i cant wait!

What show are you talking about here in town???????/?

i believe its called Import Faceoff. importfaceoff.net/houston2.htm there ya go its like 25 dollars to enter your car i think. i wanna see your fx in it dodge =) lol thats the link to the best of my ability cause it wont let me post until i have 10 posts lol

first off, welcome to the forum!

as a fellow college student myself, i agree with everyone else about school first. However if you do want to mod your car, theres much you can do without breaking your pocket. Bulbs, and DIYs can be pretty cheap if you do your research, find what you need, and have patience. Sometimes even deals come up on here for more expensive mods but a lot more affordable. good luck!

ya i think ill just go with tinting my tails and tinting the fogs until i have enough to change them both =) woot exciting i love it!

changing the fogs does not cost much. just look around on ebay and u'll find reputable buyers with good products

heres a thread i found very helpful

do try to paint yourself... it WILL come out to dark! (using something like Night Shades)

most who have painted on here had got it done professionaly and they mixed the paint so it wont get darker with each coat.

good luck with it

ya i have seen tonsssssss of people fail with the paint. not a route im gonna try also the film seems cheap and the best option cause i can take it off if i dont like it. i wanna save the 400 dollars that it would take me to change up the whole tail light section and put it toward my comp or gas.

film is good... you will need to heat it really well or cut it in sections. the outer lens is very angular and hard to apply but the reverse light is cake. I actually applied smoked vinyl to my reverse.
