I'm a Newbie again, lol!

nismo, stillen, hks, invidia so many choices. Anyone know which gives better HP gains or is it just a personal preference of sound?

Not many dynos out there -- I would go based on if you want true dual vs not and sound preference.

Invidia and Stillen are true duals. Nismo and HKS are not.

Stillen is the "deepest". Nismo is the loudest, most "exotic." HKS is deep and exotic. Invidia, I haven't heard personally.

Just my opinion on exhausts.

Great heads up, Thank You! I'm trying to find my way in the dark on exhaust info.
 
Also, the Nismo is quieter than stock at idle, beefy and sexy on the throttle and a beast at WOT.

I've had mine for a while and no drone whatsoever.

Yeah, if I did it again, I might have gone with Nismo. It's louder than HKS -- and with a V8, deep enough it doesn't sound like rice.

But the older I get, I kind of like the quieter HKS -- but still loud at wide open throttle.

Who knows, all I know is that after 5 years in Chicago salt, stainless is still looking good, no holes, no leaks, no rattles -- wouldn't expect anything less of HKS quality -- and you pay for it but worth it.

Only reason I didn't get NISMO in the first place was I couldn't find a good stainless welder to do the tips at the time.
 
What's the price difference between the two if you know off hand, or I can not be lazy and look it up, haha. The nismo is for the fx body, 35? or do you have to lengthen it because it's for a different vehichle?

Yeah, you're totally being lazy but that's okay. Do a search when you have time.

Nismo is for 350z. You need a g35 extension (makes y pipe longer), and y pipe won't fit fx45 b/c it won't clear the AWD differential. And the tips need to be extended.

But the beauty of many nissans and infiniti's sharing the Front midship platform, it bolts right up except for length wise.

You will have to use OEM y pipe or you can buy aftermarket.

All said and done, Nismo is more expensive b/c of the mods you have to do or buy. both end of day will cost a little under $1,000 installed.
