I'm a bit sad with my 07 fx 45, Dash bubbling + door lining coming off. any fixes?

We picked up this car used about 2 months ago (07 fx 45) we really like the vehicle its fun to drive etc. The only issue is that already after 2 months the dash is bubbling, it is a garaged vehicle and it sits outside at my shop during the day. in 27+ cars this has never happened even on older vehicles. is this a known problem? im an FX noob.
im hoping that the dealer will do something to fix this as replacing the dash to fix some small bubbles is a bit much i think.

Dealer will fix dash for free and maybe your other problem the dash problem is a known issue and not too long ago they sent out letters stating that they are aware of the issue. So take it in.
 
I'm pretty sure my dash was fine until this summer when I would park outside at work. Been so hot, and now I have little bubbles popping up. '07 also, so I guess I'll do the warranty fix soon.
 
wow, thanks for this info. again i know im an fx noob. this made my morning, considering the first oil change is tomorrow. well i guess the infiniti stays. now to get rid of the horrible wheels i have on it...
 
So wierd... I've had my FDX since 07, parked outside most of the time, even in summer. No problems at all with the dash.

The window trim is a diferent story lol

hm.. wonder if front window tints are preventing the bubbling dashes...
 
I think the dash problem is on black dashes only and it's not 100% on every FX with a black dash. Seriously doubt you can do anything to prevent or even slow the bubbles and here's why:

The fact that Infiniti will replace this for free says that it was a manufacturing defect - probably during certain production runs - not all of them. It totally makes sense to me that not all black dashes would have the bubble problem and the way Infiniti has chosen to deal with it - by sending out letters rather than a recall - says something about how many there are.

Some guys say that tints or even a cover will prevent the problem, but I don't really buy that. I think it's a material defect that will surface no matter what you do if your car is one of the bad ones.

Massive recalls are expensive - especially when it is only cosmetic in nature. Safety would be a different priority (like Toyota). I think Infiniti is willing to replace the dash on anybody's FX that takes the time to go through the proper channels, but they aren't going to offer up free dashes to every 1st gen owner.
 
put some coilovers on that thing already.... lol wheels definitely do not work well with the fx at all. I think the dash issue is hit or miss I for sure do not have any problems and I park outside all of the time.
 
definitely...apparently bc racing is making some custom and 2 piece wheels..im hounding the owner to let me get in on these..as i want them with the coilovers :)

My dash started bubbling

I just noticed yesterday afternoon leaving work that my dash started bubbling. It just happened over last week. its amazing how quickly it starts. i detailing my fx last saturday and it wasn't there then. I swear this just popped up out of nowhere. so from saturday to thursday just six days this started. i'm almost scared to see what it looks like when i leave work today. :eek:
 
they ordered us up a new dash no questions asked...and they are still hounding me for that black one. i just dont think losing $7k in 2 months to trade for a same year vehicle with 25k less miles is worth it (when we arent going to keep it for more then a year or two)

i got high bid on a set of stock wheels on ebay....i neeeeed them :)
