I have a 2006 fx35 RWD and recently it started sputtering on my way to the golf course with my parents. Needless to say it ruined my golf game.
After the game I was able to get my car to a mechanic close to my house. After they inspected it they said two ignition coils went out. They charged me about $450 to replace it. it worked fine for a few days, when it started to sputter again. I took it back and another ignition coil went out again. This time it was the third coil.
The mechanic suggested to change out the third one and should solve the problem, but he's not sure if this will solve the problem. In his professional opinion this will solve the problem, but is not 100% sure. He's currently fixing the third coil and I'm crossing my fingers and hope there's nothing else seriously wrong with the car.
Could it be ECM or Alternator or some other issue? Any suggestions will help.
