I dont have the bubble dash but my dash has a few cracks in it.

Any ideas on how to cover it and make it look better?
I have some extra black suede from my headliner project but I know that will fade fairly quickly on the dash. Not sure if a vinyl wrap would work as it won't really hide cracks vers well
(my understanding)

anyone ever try one??

Wrap the dash in upholstery vinyl? Not the Di-noc stuff you used, but what they use for seats and all that. Most of it is rated for outdoor use, so fading would not be an issue. The dash separates I believe, so you could get away with just wrapping the flat part which is where your cracks are. The stuff comes in tons of colors and so on. A lot of it is hard to distinguish from real leather.

Yes, it will take some time(maybe a day or so just to remove it). Plus you need to deal with airbag and wiring.

I just realized that your FX is out of the 8 years extended coverage on the dash issue. sorry to see that, otherwise the dash would have been covered under the warranty. I just had my 05 dash replaced under the warranty and it took a master tech at the dealership 16 hours for the R/R with all the experience and tools, so for an average person to take on this task would not be recommended.
I am looking into getting a suede cover for the new dash. Top of the line custom fitted cover in various trim runs only around $45. This would be my only recommendation. Best of luck.
