ICC crusie control bracket bent, where to get one???

i have a 2007 g35x sorry wrong forum but i tried on another forum also,so i went to the dealership this morning to get brakes done and get the laser cruise control fixed because it was not working properly and the said that the bracket that holds the laser crusie is bent, i looked at it and it is bent so small that it shouldnt be a big deal, they would not even adjust it or try to align it and said i would need a new bracket and it is not covered under warranty, they unit it self is not cracked or have any physical damage. they do not sell the bracket alone and it comes with the unit which is $1800 which is crazy, i called infiniti corporate and they will call me back tomorrow. where do i find a bracket or where do i get the bracket straightned, i also complained that the grill is pitting and they said its normal wear and tear and i explained how so many people are having the same issues and they dont care. i told that to corporate also.what do you guys recommend? they said the car was in a front end accident of some sort but the frame is straight, just the bumper was repainted.let me know what you guys think i should do. thanks alot

The bumper getting pitted with rock chips is normal wear and tear. No dealership covers wear and tear items. No car I know that's already going on almost 4 years old has no rock chips. Eventually the car is going to get a hand full of rock chips. I'll admit that the clear coat on Infiniti's aren't the hardest, but all cars get rock chips.

Was your front bumper repainted before? If it was, that would explain some problems your having. The body shop might of bent the bracket when they were messing with the bumper during the painting process.

Boris, the Dealer replaced my grill in my 07 G35X as well as many of my friends. I'm sure there was a notice out concerning abnormal grill pitting.

hey boris, unfortunately I have a lot of experience with these radar cruise sensors including on my own fx & several other customers cars. the truth is, if it was impacted enough to bend the bracket even slightly, then you can be sure that the sensor itself is damaged. they are extremely delicate & they do not stand up to impact well at all.

I have had to replace several of these in my body shop & I have even seen one or 2 that were just pretty light hits in the front with even no detectable visible damage to the sensor or bracket at all & still they have been "knocked out" & needed to be replaced. there is no fixing these at all, like you said the bracket damage looks to be slight but that is not the problem, the problem is the sensor itself... if the sensor was not damaged then the system would still function, the slight bend in the bracket alone is not enough to cause it not to function if the sensor was still good.

you can get the sensor yourself from like infinitipartsusa for probably not much more than a grand or so I'm guessing & then have a mechanic install it, it just plugs in & that's it, it'll work again with a new sensor. there is no magical reset or calibration here, the only "calibration" is actually aiming it forward by the adjustment screws but there not even so critical to slight misalignment tbh, slight misalignment would not cause it not to work, it would have to be grossly misaligned to affect the operation of it to the point of it not working at all... slight misalignment can cause erratic behavior like it maybe not working well when the sun is at a very low angle or it picking up the reflectors of a truck in an adjacent lane, stuff like that...

the dealer said the grill is normal wear and tear, im going to try another dealer. he also said that the laser unit looks fine just the bracket is bent and he said even the smallest movment would cause it to not work. it works just not as well as it should it def just needs to be aligned but they wont even touch it,. i made a report with corporate and waiting for their call back
