I decided to have the fuel injection system serviced since it has not had alot of freeway time. After the service my "Service Engine Soon" light came on. I took it back to my mechanic who ran a diagnoses on it but nothing was found. I tried the Gas cap fix, but still nothing. Thinking I should replace the Gas Cap? Any Ideas...
 
How could your mechanic find nothing if the SES light is on? As soon as he does an OBD scan, it will show him the codes that are causing the light.
 
Not sure. He just says nothing came up.. The light went off after he changed the spark plugs and ran the dianoses. Then after it ran a few times it came back on. So I put gas in it and chacked the cap again. But it is still on.. Don't want to take it to the dealer and pay for another test, but I will if I have too..
 
Any time the SES light comes on there is a code. Go to AutoZone to have them plug in their scanner to retrieve the code. It's a free service at AutoZone.
 
PLus in an OBDII reader, you'll get code like "P1034" then you can look up the code, or post here, to see what the problem is.

It's likely more than a gas cap - probably has something to do with your mechanic
 
He probably ran some of that cleaner like sea foam into your system.

Let it burn out and run through the system for a week.

If it doesn't improve in 1-2 weeks, that mechanic screwed up most likely your MAF sensor, especially if you are idling rough, shaking, or hesitation.

You can try to spray MAF cleaner on the sensor gently, or spend $100-$500 for a new one...

That's my best guess from without seeing the car in person, so could be completely wrong...

I'd agree your mechanic most likely screwed something up. I would take it elsewhere to get checked out. push the mechanic to take care of it, and if he doesn't, don't go back.
