I am considering upgrading to 2nd Gen FX35 what other cars have you considered?

I see a lot of weighing in on the 3.5 vs the 5.0. Any advantages of going with the 3.7 over the 3.5. Are there notable differences between the 2009-2012 / 2013-2017?

There is no discernable difference between the 09 - 12 FX 35 or the FX/QX 37/70 (3.7 liter engine). 1/4 mile times were reported to be the same, 0 - 60 the same. Fuel mileage was 1 mpg greater. I let my wife drive my recently acquired 09 FX35 to commute to work for a week while her car was in the shop. I filled the tank up before I gave it to her. I always reset my trip meter when I fill up. I got it back from her and it registered 465 miles with 67 miles to empty in mostly highway commuting with some local each day. I was very happy with that mileage. I also have a 370z Roadster and honestly, both engines feel the same to me with the exception that my Z is a 6 speed manual and my 09 FX is an automatic with the paddle shifters. I paid $9k for my fully loaded 09 FX35 in July 2018 and have zero buyer's remorse. The only thing that I see different is the Navigation display between my 09 FX and my 2010 370Z. Huge difference is the sharpness of the display, however even that is only a minor upgrade considering it does everything else my Z's navigation does.

Thats a great in depth analysis. You paid 9k for your FX, did it have alot of miles on it? That is a great deal!
When I was test driving the qx70 for some reason it seemed to have more torque / more response than the fx35 2nd gen.
That is also very good MPG, you are using premium fuel and getting 465 per tank with 67 miles until empty? I usually get around 400 if i am lucky, i dont drive aggressively either.

Thanks for offering your experience!

well what are you guys getting for mileage on your 2nd generation V6? How many miles between fill-ups?

I average between 320-350. Curious what others are getting?
Is this a 2nd generation? Is it a V6 or V8? Is this all city miles? My wife got 465 ( I normally get about 430 with 100 DTE before I fill up) but she was commuting roughly 70 miles each way via highway. I’ve seen where according to my distance to empty and trip meter, the car would calculate 560 miles to the tank however, I’ve never made it that far. This is only with majority highway driving (I live in the DC metro area)

i have a 2012 3.5 V6. I think I need to do a better test. I will record the next time I fill up. Are you using premium or regular fuel?
