Hydro Dipping

I don't like it... lol that'll look good for small pieces... like things in the engine bay or the headunit/console trim pieces.

$650 is a lot :eek.:
unless your not trying to permanatly change up your wheel color id recommend powdercoating...comes out to about $400

It comes out really good when I had my VIP gs300 I did all the trim inside in burl wood and it came out nice. I plan on doing my grill and the 2 chrome trunk pieces in carbon fiber. Also it's cheap

I totally agreed with you. Hypro dipping is good for none straight line or uniform pattern like wood or camouflage. Pattern like CF with straight line weave pattern on flat straight surfaces looks bad. Trust me on this guys. My lesson costed me $550. My guess, on wheel should be ok since its round, so the somewhat wavy CF weave pattern is not too bad.

Yeah. I just want something different. They said that they don't make their carbon look like that. They said they use what is called "real carbon" which is actually black and a little gold in the accents. They said it almost looks real. I will probably do my grille and my rims if I end up doing it I think. Would I be the first carbon rims and grille FX?

Yep, $650 seems high, should be less. Couple more pictures

See, I love it.

Those wheels look good

Yeah! I think I'm gonna go for it guys. Ill be the first FX to do it I believe. (I hope) I'm gonna try to get grille and rims done with it and then ill probably wrap the other stuff I want done in Di Noc. Zebra can get that stuff cheap right?

The guy sent me this and said this is one I just did last week: View attachment 8247

Ok, I see, I have an agreement with Hexis only. Hexis carbon vinyl is different from di-noc, and they require a minimum order of 11 yards.

Alright guys so I talked to the guy and I'm meeting him next weekend to set up getting my wheels dip in CF. I will post up a thread on them to show you the before and after of them all and some behind the scenes of how they did it. :)

Nice can't wait to see pics, I hope it doesn't look like that 1st wheel pic you posted earlier

Nice! Just make sure they are going to put a clear coat after dipping the wheels, or it will not last long.
