Hurricane hitting nyc

Was planning to spend the weekend doing some mods to my FX35, But now main goal is to find a secure covered parking garage to park up for the weekend.

Good luck to all the East coast residents, Be safe & stay inside.

I live in Boston and I'm glad that I'm going to park my FX inside a garage just in case it gets real bad with all the wind and rain

free parking even on meter spots. unheard of!
toll free bridges and tunnels....
mta shutting down after 12noon...
and local starbucks closed :mad.:

Be safe everyone! Don't underestimate Mother Nature. Protect your rides and most important, your families.

Whew got off lucky.

Before leaving for the mandatory evacuation we got a couple generators and connected them to a few pumps around the basement, including a big one connected to a french drain. Luckily the week before we decided to smash the sheetrock in the basement to make sure the french drains were working and discovered some blockage, and also a section where it was filled with cement so we fixed it up. Throughout the storm the pumps perform perfectly so no flooding at all :-). Neighbors unfortunately did not have pumps going so will have to help them out. Small leak in the garage but we are happy to have gotten away with minimal damage and everyone is safe & sound!

Glad it wasn't as life threatening as everyone had thought. I use to live on Cape Cod and now live in Tampa. Guess I wanted to be closer to the action.

Billy Stinson comforts his daughter Erin Stinson as they sit on the steps where their cottage once stood on August 28, 2011 in Nags Head, N.C. The cottage, built in 1903 and destroyed by Hurricane Irene, was one of the first vacation cottages built on Albemarle Sound in Nags Head. Stinson has owned the home, which is listed in the National Register of Historic Places, since 1963. "We were pretending, just for a moment, that the cottage was still behind us and we were just sitting there watching the sunset," said Erin afterward. (Scott Olson/Getty Images)
