Hubcentric Rings for fx

You guys are very helpful, thanks guys, i'll measure it when i get a chance
Robb, if you want we can pull off a wheel and measure it at the Cruise in the parking lot at Kawartha Speedway. If so let me know and I will have my torque wrench and measuring tools there.

I would definitely phone them up. They have a selection of hub rings there I believe. Billy is the guy I dealt with when I picked up my rims and tires and he seemed good to deal with. They open at 10am on weekdays, it is a busy time for them since people are getting their winter rubber on. I would call as soon as possible if it is vibrating that bad.

66.1 is the size of the nissan/infiniti hub you also need to know what the bore size is on the wheel so it fits tight. I have rings at werk if you can figure out the bore size

Robb, any progress on your hub rings ???

Missed you guys at the Fall Cruise, it was a great day, except I was the only FX out of 500 rides. I got lots of great comments about the FX there.

I'll be installing a set of wheels in a month (or two), so I read a few old threads about it.
I dug this thread up coz I'm a little confused about this Hub Centric Ring.
My wheels are 22/9.5 et+40 with a center bore of 73.1. Now the FX (35 '06) -from what I've read- has a center bore of 66.1(?), so that means it won't "grip" the wheels and could result in to a lot of vibration (or damage?).
The fix is getting these hub centric rings; from FXLR8's post, I should get the 66.1mm x 73mm (66.1mm = inner diameter x 73mm = outer diameter) set. Will this fit my wheels?
So where exactly are these rings going to be mounted?
Is it something that you just slide in to the center bore of the FX (or a spacer -I might use a set-) before mounting the wheel? Also, are these (rings) readily available at any tire/wheel shop?

...sorry about my diagram, I just want to make sure I'm right about what the center bore is.

Thanks!!

if you're going to run spacers anyway, you can get custom spacers that also have the rings built in, I did this for my assanti's, got 10mm spacers made that have a 66.1mm inner center bore with a 73mm outer bore. I bought a bore gauge to get an acurate measurement & winded up having the spacers made tight enough that they kinda press into the wheel & then stay there snuggly as the wheel is removed & re installed, almost like a part of the wheel now...

I know I'm digging up old threads but I cant send any pm's yet. I was wondering where you got your spacers made turbocad6, I like the idea of no plastic rings needed.

Thanks Jason

Don't know where turbo had his made, but you can get what you're looking for here.

Just know exactly what the centerbore of your wheels is. And the plastic rings in no way impact vibration - they're just there to center your wheels when mounting. If you torque the lug nuts properly, your wheel is centered, that's why the lug nuts are tapered.

I was new to my FX when I bought lexani's as well and noticed 2 plastic rings were in the bag. No idea what they were for as it was my first time, installed a. 4 wheels.( 2 had the ring) I was told it can just cause stress to lugs, in my 4 months of having them I had 0 issues with 2 wheels not having. We also made sure the lugs were torqued properly

Just to let you guys know that Lenny Jr. at Motorsports Tech is one hell of a shady guy and a piss poor business owner. He is a great bullshitter though. I sent my rims to him to be redrilled to the correct bolt pattern and it has now been 4 months and he refuses to answer my calls now. Basically he just decided to keep the rims. I'm assuming that he messed them up and can't fix it but that is just an assumption. Since I'm in Hawaii I can't exactly go pay him a visit very easily either. I've tried making a police report but since the "theft" happened Nevada my PD can't do anything about it. When I call Reno PD they say that since I willingly sent my rims to him it's not a theft so they can't do anything either. When the police call him to see if he will resolve the matter he laughs at them. There are a few other lawsuits against him if you do a google search on Lenny Stahl Jr. where he refuses to pay out settlements against him by the courts and such. Of course I didn't bother doing that before I sent my rims cause I had had a good experience with the company prior to this incident. I can't explain why a company would just decide to keep giving me the runaround for 4 months(literally calling him every week to be told "another day or two and it'll ship) then just decide to keep my property AND charge me for the work plus shipping. In any event, I'm in the process of trying to reverse the charges to my credit card for the services and shipping and writing off the rims as a loss since no one seems to be able to do anything about it and it'll cost me more than a new set of rims to fly up there and get them back not to mention the possibility of incarceration for breaking his ass.
You may have a better experience but just thought I'd share how my experience went with them. Do a Google search on his name though if you are thinking about using them

That is very unfortunate, let us know if this gets resolved.

i guess this is a word of warning about dealing with that company :disapointed:

Nope, no money back nor does he planning on giving any back or sending the rims back either. Basically it's an easy crime for someone to do since the consumer is willingly sending them rims to him it's not considered theft. LOL, I pretty much paid him $350 to steal my rims. There are a few other stories about him on the web too.
Anyway, just a heads up. Thanks for the support guys!

Don't just accept it. Start sending him registered signed at receipt letter. Indicate you are considering legal action, etc. Start compiling all your documented transactions including money transfer, etc.

Nah, I'm over it already. As I get older I just don't care for the hassles anymore with things. I've seen his dealings with things even when the courts have ruled against him he refuses to pay up and blatantly boasts about how they won't get the money outta him cause the ruling was in a different state than him. His Karma will come around, that I am certain of.
On a lighter note, just got a new set of rims in so I'm happy again. My car has been completely trashed for the last year and a half because of a bunch of different issues. Hell, it hasn't even gotten a wash in over a year now but now I'm super excited to get back on the FX wagon again. Got my detailing kit ready to go and gonna get this bad boy looking nice and spanky again. Haven't been this motivated in years. I'll post up pics when I'm done.
