Well , after having my rims installed for the past month ive been getting horrible shaking 90kph+ its really bad, it happend as soon as i installed the rims and i got the rims re balanced at least 4 times, one guy told me the hubcentric rings i have on are too lose and theres too much play around the hub, is there any company who makes these rings designed for our fx that will be a snug fit? i can no longer drive on the hwy because the shaking is bad and i dont want to ruin my wheels/tires, let me know , thanks guys . :iS:

Robb, Try tires23 in Mississauga. That's where I got my Enkeis, hub rings and tuner lugs last week. Call (905) 602-8881 and ask for Billy. Tell him Wayne with the FX and Enkeis said to call.

thanks wayne, this is my last resort , i know my wheels arent bent or anything cause the balancing machine said they were good, the only thing is they said is the hubcentric ring is not snug so i have to get one thats tight on there

Get some teflon plumbing tape and wrap the hub lip for a tight fit to hub and wrap the OD of hubcentric ring with the teflon tape till you have a tight fit to wheel.

i mentioned that to the guy but he said that wouldn't work, maybe i should try it , i dont know what the center bore is, the wheel is a universal fitment? and im not running spacers

Sounds similar to the issues Ege was having with his OZ rims. One of the rings in his wasn't set properly and it cut a groove into the center bore. He was never able to fully get rid of the vibrations after countless alignments, balances, suspension part replacements, etc. When I got the rims from him I replaced the damaged one and have had zero issues at any speed.

If you can measure your rims centerbore in mm's we can find the proper size ring. Universal just means they make the centerbore big enough to fit most hubs.

Do you have the boxes?

Sent an email to StarrWheels for information on the center bore for the Soulja style rims in a 5x114.3 and this is what they sent back.

should be 73.1

Should be??? doesn't seem like this company knows their product well. Rob, best bet would be to measure your rims center bore to double check what they said. If what they said is true, you would need this size ring.

I can't get over how helpful you are. Great group of guys. Props to you:tup:

I am definitely going to be a supporter of this site. I will be signing up in the next couple of days.

so how does this work? the hub we have is 66.1mm, so the hole in the spacer is 66.2mm? then a 73.1mm bore gets a 73mm hub adaptor? so there is .1mm of difference to make up for the inner & outer fit? is that for sure or?

I just bored a set of hres to try & fit them on my other car, but I measured 70mm at the hub, told the machinest I measured 70mm, he bored it to 70mm & it don't fit... guess that's pretty obvious, thought he may have known how much extra to compensate but ahh,... now gotta get them back to him for a slight more boring & trying to see how much to tell him... he actually measured the old rim from the car at 70.6mm & supposedly bored to that, but still don't fit... I need a good bore gauge of my own, don't know how he's measuring but guess his measurements just suck

I have both, 66.1 mm and 66.2 mm. 66.1 mm is extremely snug where it almost didn't fit. 66.2 mm fits too and very small play -- if any. I went with the 66.1 mm as it fit better but both would have centered the wheel without any noticeable difference. Note these are $10 hub rings so it's not like they are probably made to exact specifications... Just your hard plastic ones that I found on ebay.
