HowTo: Package and Ship Wheels/Tires

Packing and Shipping those Heavy Rims and Tires.

Items Needed
Cardboard
Scissors or Blade
Packing Tape
Stretch Wrap


1. Grab your rim

2. Cut out a piece of cardboard a bit larger than the face of your rim (we want to protect the face and lip of the rim during shipping).

3. Tape the piece of cardboard on your rim to hold it in place.

4. Grab your stretch wrap. (I would purchase the larger size if you have it available in your area. After 2 stores this is all I could find - at home depot.)

5. Start off by wrapping the tread area of your tire. This will help the stretch wrap stick together when you start wrapping the face and rear of the tire.

6. Now you can wrap around the face and rear of the rim. Get crazy and wrap away.

7. Wrapped up.

8. Reinforce the wrap with your packing tape. I made a few rounds around the tread of the tire.

9. and star patterns on the face and rear of the rim/tire.

10. You are done...

All you have to do now is tape your mailing labels on the tread part of the packages and drop them off or have the shippers come and pick up your packages.

***Let your wife have her parking space back and say goodbye to the 80lb rims and tires from your garage.***
