I have the 2007 FX35, it still has the original battery from Japan.
five years already, is it the time to put a new one in?
anyone can tell me how to DIY step by step?

I opened the hood and took a look today, the battery was hidden inside the covers.
Do I need to remove all the cover and side wall to take it out? or I can just pull it out from that hole?

while I working on the connect/disconnect steps. Should I use a battery pack connect to the car, in case it lose all the data.?

please give me some ideas.

Thanks

It should be pretty clear what you need to remove once you have it open. Take off the cover, and the trim around the battery itself for easiest access. The hardest part I found was getting the little clamps off that hold it to the battery tray. I did it in a parking lot though with simple hand tools so it's definitely doable.

I can't remember if I lost any radio presets but I don't think I did.

Like Stu said, it's a simple DIY, however the battery is heavy! I didn't loose any data when disconnected the battery and reconnected the new one. ECU seems to hold the memory for a short amount of time to save your settings.

I went to walmart today, they are selling the Everstart Maxx 24f for $85.
I found that battery has the CCA 750,, but I think the factory battery has 582 CCA..
Is that Maxx 24f too strong to the FX ? will it be a problem?
I'm in NY, half year cold and half year hot..

I just recently changed my battery as well...here is a tip. My old battery did not have a handle...nice batteries come with a handle so you can pull it out with one hand and no stress involved. Well, on the FX, Infiniti decided to put it in a hole no bigger then the battery itself. I barely got my fingertips on the edge of the battery and it was way to heavy to pull it out that way.

So I went to my basement and found an old messanger style bag. It has a shoulder strap that I ended un just looping it under the battery to gain leverage. Long story short...had it out in about 5 sec.

My radio presets and tone adjustments were all resetted but nothing else was.

I got my battery at Costco. It cost me $67 out the door.

I had done this 2 weeks ago. I had removed all the plastics on by the passenger side (including the wiper/windshield trim). You'll need a 10mm socket/wrench in removing 2 nuts from the battery strap and also the battery terminals are 10mm sizing. Remove the neg terminal first, then the positive. Swap battery and reverse the steps.

Radio presets / memory seating will be erased. Not sure of the Bass/Treble settings but I'll check later this week.

Can someone post a picture of battery straps please. I don't have any and need to find something similar/suitable. Thanks

I'm lazy...Sears Auto offered to put it in for me for $5 and enjoyed a coffee in their waiting room while they got their hands dirty.

Haha...I kinda wish I just did this too. The hardest part was to put the top rail thing that holds the battery in place back on. I had a hard time finding the little hole for the peg (Part 2 and 3 in Soonsters picture) to fit back in behind the battery. Lots of guessing. Took me about 20 min to finally get it in.
