How to repair cracked dash in front of pass airbag?

About 4 weeks ago, I noticed a small dime sized crack forming in the dash directly in front of the passenger airbag. Since then, the crack has grown to about 3-4 inches. There appears to be an outline of a frame or molding structure behind the surface of the dash that the crack is following. I have no doubt in the next few summer months the crack will grow to the entire width of the panel.

Does anyone have an suggestions for repair? I've spoken to a few auto upholstery repair shops, and none will touch it due to proximity to the air bag. I'd like to know if there's some method of repairing the dash surface to keep it from spreading. It really makes the interior feel like garbage since it's so visible.

The only other option I can think of is completely replacing the dash. I don't mind taking on that kind of job. Most used dashes I can find on the internet are black/brick/bubbled/or the airbags have already gone off. Or they're so expensive that I might as well just buy a new one.

I'll try to post pics later.

Thanks!

Not a whole lot you can do for repair that wont be visible. I have had success stopping cracks with silicone/RTV adhesive, but not the prettiest thing. Others have found dash covers that would work.

I did replace the dashboard in my first generation FX with a new OE part from the dealership, but paid a local shop to do the install.
